I have been looking into movies for the summer and here is what I have found: RAVE theaters (at the mall in Hurst) is to have a free movie. Then Cinemark, AMC, and Studio Movie Grill theaters are to have $1-2 movies for the summer. At cinemark you can buy a summer pass for 10 movies for $5. If you go to their websites you can find the listing of all summer dates and movies since they vary theater to theater.
If you want to look into walking some let me know. My husband has lost 24 lbs so far this year...he works out before work. I would love to lose the rest of the baby weight but with 2 girls I haven't worked to find time on my own to do this.

June 17 & 18 - Bee Movie (PG)

July 1 & 2 - Fire House Dog (PG)
July 8 & 9 - Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium (G)
July 15 & 16 - Charlotte's Web (G)
July 22 & 23 - Surf's Up (PG)
July 29 & 30 - Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A Veggie Tales

As a side note my mom teaches preschool in the Chicago area (3-5 year olds) and they took their students to see the Veggie Tales movie and she said it was very cute and they all were really into it aside from the bathroom breaks.

I know that Tintsleton in Grapevine has movie club on Wed. over the summer and it's just $1.00 per movie/person, but you can also get a pass you pay upfront for a lesser price. I'm sure if you go to the website of local theaters you can find something similar if Tintseltown isn't close enough

Hi A.,
During the summer RAVE shows kid friendly movies every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:00. They also lower the price of the kid pack! They should have a listy of the movies soon. I have heard that most movie theaters in this area have the same program and they all show different movies. We go to Rave because it is two blocks away and we can walk.
Good Luck!

Hi A.,
I heard last summer that Fossil Creek and The Rave theaters offered free movies on certain days. I never got the opportunity to go as it conflicted with swimming lessons, but it's worth checking into for the upcoming summer! Best wishes!

Last year Rave at NE Mall did a free movie once a week (I think it was Wednesday's) I've not seen anything this year yet. Harkins is doing $5 movies for the summer. Hope this helps.
I'll walk with you sometime! Just email me.

There is a dollar theater on the service road of 820 at hwy 26... (in the Hooter's parking lot)... Movies 8. Here's the phone # where a live person actually answers... ###-###-####.
After movies are out of the regular theaters but before they come out on DVD, they end up at the dollar theater. I keep an eye out for the movies i'm interested in my children watching.
Movies are $1.75 ... there are some times when movies are $1.00 and then there's also a family nite where u can buy 3 tkts for 50 cents each which ends up being cheaper than buying 1 tkt.
Hope this is helpful.
Good Luck!
