My three year old daughter is always getting bitten by misqitos! I've put several different kinds of bug application on her and nothing works. She and I both have sensitive skin, so I'm not sure if that's somoething. Well any answer of advice would be great. She's got awful red marks all over from bites. Help!

What can I do next?

Try Bite Guard Jr. It works awesome, smells great, and doesn't bother my kids sensitive skin (they both have eczema and are allergic to EVERYTHING). It's a little pricy but definitely worth it. I got it at a local healthfood store, but I think Whole Foods carries it as well.

That new Off spray with the corn starch in it (so it dries immediately and doesn't feel greasy) works wonders. My son used to get covered and this stuff eliminated the problem.

Are you sure they are mosquitos? last summer my daughter was covered in bites and we finally figured out it was from something in the sand box. ( possibly sand flees). As soon as we emptied the sand box the bites went away.

I used to sell Avon for a few years, and always used their bug guard with great results, have you tried it on your daughter? I may still have a few cans/bottles of the stuff i would be happy to send you!

Hi E.,
same here with the sensitive skin....the product we use is California Baby bug repellent with citronella. It is a bit pricey but well worth it. I get mine at a salon in dedham...but i think target may sell it...or the website.
best of luck.

wal-mart in Biddeford carries an organic bug spray called "bite blocker" it's even safe for use on infants, and does not contain DEET, I've used it on myself and my daughter and it works, for bites that are already there, try some benadryl cream - I have sensitive skin as well, and these products haven't irritaded my skin.

Good luck :)

Are you getting the bites too? There is a bed bug epidemic right now. I thought the same about my daughter and found out her bites weren't mosquitos - they were bed bugs. A little disturbing, but it took us several doctor visits and two months to figure out what it was. I hope that's not the case for you.
