Mini Bundt Cake Recipe

I need to make mini bundt cakes for a holiday party. I have the pan, but can I make regular cake mix and follow the recipe on the box? Do I need to anything differently? Does the oven temperature change?

What can I do next?

Make the same recipe and bake at the same temp, just for a shorter amount of time. If the regular recipe bakes for 30 minutes, start checking around 18-20 minutes.

Make the mix as usual. If the box has directions for cupcakes I would probably start by using that as a guideline. You can test to see whether the cake is done by lightly tapping the surface - if it's springy, it's done. Check every 5 minutes or so once they've baked for 15-20 min I would say.

Start with less time and the same temp. Check with a tooth pick as you usually would around 20 min and then every couple minutes after that. Should come out just fine:)

L.,

Here is a mini bunt cake receipe from Sandra Lee on the food network. Although this recipe is not a holiday theme, the same concept applies and you could modify the recipe and decorate it to be used for whichever holiday theme you want. Good luck!

Lemon Rose Bundt Cake with Mini Rose Bundt Cakes Recipe courtesy Sandra Lee
Show: Semi-Homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee
Episode: Rose Garden

Nonstick spray
2 boxes lemon cake mix
2 boxes packaged lemon pudding mix (not instant)
6 eggs
1 1/4 cups rose soda
2/3 cup oil
1 box confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon rose syrup

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Spray a rose Bundt pan and mini rose Bundt pan with nonstick spray.

In a mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs and rose soda. Add oil, mix until smooth.

Divide batter into prepared pans, bake until tester inserted in the center comes out clean, about 35 minutes for the large cake, about 20 minutes for the mini cakes.

Cool on wire racks.

In a bowl, combine confectioners' sugar, water and rose syrup. Whisk to form a smooth glaze. Pour glaze into a resealable plastic bag, snip off a corner and drizzle glaze on cooled cakes.

Hi L.. Check the box of cake mix you are using and see if there is a time for using cupcake pans. I bet it would take about the same time for your mini bundt cakes.
Happy Holidays!

Dear L.,
I would use a cake mix or recipe for a bundt cake.
I do not think the temp would be different but the cooking time would be shorter, and you would have to test with a toothpick from time to time to determine when they were done.
Good luck!
