Hi Ladies!
I have a lot of time on my hands today! I was just curious who all is due in May, how are you feeling, what you are having if you know, and what you have done so far to prepare for baby. Baby names? Im due May 26th. I have felt kinda blah lately, not real motivated to do much around the house. I cant wait to start nesting!!! We are going to revert our bonus room into a 4th bedroom for our new baby girl. We havent started it yet though. :( I have recently started buying baby girl clothes, I bought a new swing, pack n play, carseat, and stroller. I still need quite a few things. This is my 3rd baby, but since i was convinced I was having no more than two kids, I got rid of most of my baby stuff. :( I think my husband and I have agreed on the first name Taylor. Middle name is still unknown. I think Taylor Jane sounds cute, but it doesnt thrill hubby. Ok, enough about me, I want to hear about you and your babies!

What can I do next?

Thanks Ladies for sharing! Congrats to all of you for your upcoming babies!! I know I cant wait. Its nice to hear from preggos like me. And Shane congrats on your grandbaby! That is so exciting, My MIL said having her first grandbaby was better than having her own kids! I cant imagine anything being better than that, but sounds pretty exciting!! Dawn, I was pregnant in that picture, but it was before I knew I was pregnant. It was my hubby and I's anniversary. Thanks so much! Good luck all with your kiddos and new babies!!

I am expecting my first grand baby in May. A little boy, due the 7th. I can't wait!
I work in the maternity ward at a hospital and every time I see a new baby, I get more excited for my little guy to arrive.
My daughter looks so beautiful. She is really tiny and her belly is humongous. She is already so uncomfortable. She's really getting nervous about the birth.
We still have some things to get for her before the baby arrives. She is pouring over name books because nothing sounds right to her.
I think Taylor Jane is a darling name for a girl!
I have always loved the name Jane.

Best wishes to you and be sure to let us know when your baby gets here.
Take good care of yourself!

Due May 3. Having a little boy. This is our first and we are so excited! We have the room together with crib, glider and changing table. We have the registry together and are currently looking for day cares and pediatricians that we like. He is moving a lot and I feel huge.

I love the name Taylor Jane. We were going with the middle name Jane if ours was a girl as well.

Good luck with your new little one!

Our third baby (but first girl) is due May 13! I've had a really tough pregnancy this time around. I bled for over a month in the beginning and have been an emotional mess pretty much the entire time. This is NOT the same type of pregnancy that I had with my boys.

We aren't really doing much different for this baby than we did with the boys. She will use the same nursery that our boys did, with the same bedding. We are just getting a few little things here and there to girl it up a bit.

I am dying to get up into the attic and start going through the clothes to pick out stuff that I can use for her. I don't think we have much! We knew we were having boys so all of our clothes are boy clothes, not gender neutral. So with the exception of onesies, socks and maybe a few jammies, I think we will need new clothes. I'm not going to go crazy with buying a ton of stuff though, because so many people buy clothes when the baby is born. So I kind of want to wait to see what we get as gifts. I won't be having a shower as this is our third.

We still have all of our baby gear, as our oldest is 2.5 and our youngest is 14 months. So that is good. The only thing we will need in that department is a new car seat when she grows out of the infant seat.

Congrats May mamas!

My 3rd baby, and 1st girl was due May 15th. She was born May 16th. Her name is Margaret Katharine, and she is now 13 years old and an absolute joy every day of my life! Since May is the month of Mary, if you only get one girl, that's certainly the month to have her!

Congrats!

:)

I don't mean to intrude. I am not expecting a child or a grandchild anytime soon. I just couldn't help but notice that your due date is my sweet, sweet grandmother's birthday. She was born in 1901 and has not been with us for some time, but she lived with us and took care of me as a child more than my mother did. She was the one who read me stories at night and guided my character training. Because she was the last daughter born to her parents, they gave her all the leftover names they had chosen for girls, five in all. They are certainly dated names, popular at the time and rarely given today. I remember memorizing her name as a young child, along with her maiden and married surnames, and feeling like I had memorized a poem. I just thought I would share them with you:

Hilda Flossy Melinda Margaret Louis

Of course, all the children growing up in our neighborhood just knew her as Grandma.

I admit I would likely never choose one of those names for a daughter or granddaughter. I am sharing this because when we choose a name for a child, we usually think about how that name might fit them as a child. We rarely think about how it will look on the door to their office, on the cover of the book they might write, or that we are naming the grandmother of our great, great grandchildren.

I really like Taylor Jane. It sounds so strong and capable. But men often find names like Taylor to sound a bit masculine. Names such as Madeline seem to evoke images that are both competent and feminine. (Not that I'm suggesting Madeline. Just an example.) My husband and I would have had as much trouble naming girls as we had naming our son. He wanted girly names for girls and butchy names for boys. I went for the names that sounded both powerful and poetic. But, I still love the name we finally agreed upon. Sometimes the best results really do come where two extremes meet.
