Looking to Start a Play Group on Pope & Fort Bragg
Hello fellow mothers! I'm a stay-at-home mom on Pope AFB. I have a 5th grade daughter, and a 3 1/2-year old daughter, and a baby. I have been making phone calls all over Ft Bragg and Pope, trying to find a free program for my 3 year old to have the opportunity to play with other children her age, with no luck so far. The Child Development Centers on Bragg and the one on Pope will of course watch her, but we can't afford their rates. I am hoping to find some other mothers so we can maybe organize a playgroup of our own, a chance for our children to be with other children, socialize, interact, and play!
I was involved in a playgroup in Omaha, Nebraska for five years, there were about 7 mothers, and we kept a list of our play dates, as well as each others phone numbers, we met at parks, at each other's houses, sometimes went to the zoo or children's museum, and our children made friends and so did we.
If anyone knows of any playgroups in the Bragg/Pope area, or if you live in the area and are interested in setting something up please reply here!

I have an 8 year old boy, a 9 month old boy and newly pregnant with our third.I am definitely in need of time out of the house to socialize with big people and have adult conversations so please let me know if you are going to go ahead and start something up. Thanks!

I have a 3 yr old daughter, a 1 yr old, and I am preggers with my 3rd. I would love to start a playgroup, I haven't been able to find much either, and I have lived on Bragg for 2 yrs. I also have a friend who has a 2.5 yr old who would be interested as well. Send me a message if you would like to get together at a park or something and we can meet and see how the kids all do together.

I think that would be a wonderful idea. My husband is stationed there but because of my employment issues I won't be there until the end of february. I am pregnant with out second child now, so I am not planning on returning to work when I get there and we have a wonderful 4 year old son who just simply loves to play. I think the idea of him being a part of a play group would be a good thing for him since he will no longer be going to daycare, and i don't want him to lose that social interaction he needs from being with other children. He is such a wonderful sweet boy and he really does enjoy making new friends. I think it would be really good for me too, because we don't know very many people down there, and I am pretty shy, so this would be a good chance for me to make new friends as well.
