Looking for Swimming Lessons in Austin/Lakeway Area

Hello - I am looking for swimming lesson referrals for my 3 yr old daughter. She is very comfortable in the water, can blow bubbles, kick, float around with a life jacket on, etc... so I think she would greatly benefit from lessons where the actually teach strokes, to be comfortable underwater and to survive in the water. Most of the lessons I've seen say these are things they don't teach - it's just to get kids comfortable being around and in the water, with no other clear goals. Would greatly appreciate any advice on group/private lessons in the Austin/Lakeway area. Thank you for your time - N..

Hi N. - Our son has been going to Emler Swim off Anderson Mill/183 for a couple of years now and he's done really well. We are doing to start our daughter there soon. It's great!

Dear N.,

Emler Swim School (north Austin, Anderson Mill near 620) has unique curriculum and has been in business for 33+ years.

We have an entire portion of our program dedicated to 3 year olds. It's called our Aquatot program. The goal for the first level is to swim 5ft independently. And the goals for each of the three other 3 year old levels goes up from there, increasing distance and diffuculty with each step.

Our classes are taught by nurturing instructors in an indoor, heater pool. Class sizes are small, no more than 4 to a class for this level, and results are guaranteed.

Most parents who call us are thinking about safety and are surprised that we can teach children this young to swim 20 ft or more with good form & technique! While we do incorporate safety skills in every single class, we include progressive swim skills and FUN, too.

By the way, we also have a program for your 18 month old to learn to swim independently. It is a parent participation class where we go from first learning comfort in the water, to breath holding, and then to swimming 3-5ft and water safety skills.

Please visit our website for a free trial class coupon, or call our office for more information.

Swimcerely,
G. S

Emler is a great program. It's located on Anderson Mill - so a little commute from Lakeway. Indoor pools, but focus alot on strokes and form.

My kids learned alot from the River Place swim lessons. The swim lessons are or were open to the public several years ago and I hear they still are. Affordable and great value for the price.

Emler Swim School is by far the best place for swimming lessons that I have ever had - even better than private. My 10 & 6 yr old boys went there and my 2 1/2 yr old girl, caye, goes there now - she can swim on her own with her face in the water for 10 seconds, she can back float on her own -- max. 4 in a class - instructors are extremely well-trained and coached. www.iswimemler.com ###-###-#### they are on anderson mill road

You could try The Hills Club/ World of Tennis pool. They have swim classes with a small class size, as well as one-on-ne instruction.
