Dear M.,
Please come try Emler Swim School in North Austin. We would LOVE to teach your children & grandbabies to swim! We have FABULOUS instructors, we are open year-round (indoor heated pool), and we produce amazing results.
Many of our 3 years olds can turn around and swim back to the side of the pool after just a few lessons, and that is a goal for all students by the end of their session. This is a critical safety skill, especially here in Texas. The #1 cause of accidental death for children under the age of 5 in the state of Texas is drowning.
We are not the least expensive lessons in town, but readers of Austin Family Magazine have voted us the best lessons in town every year since we opened our Austin location.
We have a coupon on our website for a free trial lesson. Check us out!
Swimcerely,
G. S

Tom's Dive and Swim on Burnet Rd. has an excellent program. You'll need to check their openings because they book quickly, but I would highly recommend them based on our experience.

Check out the local YMCA. I just started taking my 10 mo. old to one of their swim classes and it only cost about $55 (give or take a couple of dollars - can't remember exact amount). That was the non-member fee.
The Y has what they call "shrimp" classes for 6 - 36 month olds. There's a next level swim group for slightly older kids. I think it's the Perch class. Anyway, they do have Saturday classes available.
We're going to the one just off Parmer on McNeil Road. There may be another Y closer to you.

Joy Swim School. She teaches 1st grade during the school year, and has been teaching swimming lessons since she was a teenager. She's GREAT! Very sweet personality and awesome with kids. Her number is: ###-###-####. Good Luck!
