Looking for Someone Who Does Water Births

I am looking for someone in the DFW area or maybe southern Oklahoma that will perform a water birth. I have called a few midwives in the area and nobody seems to know who does them around here. I am in Lewisville, but like I said, I am willing to travel.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thank you all SO much! I don't know how I missed all of these wonderful places when I was researching. I am now talking with a few of the midwives to see which one suits me best. I feel very confident in all of your recomendations.
Thanks again!

Inanna birthing center. You can have a water birth at their birthing center or rent the birthing tub and have a home birth. I am due in August and have been with them since my sixth month of pregnancy. Since you live in Lewisville, the drive would not be tood bad because the birthing center is in Lewisville.

My midwife is the best! She attended all three of my children's births at my home. My births were all peaceful and perfect. I never had any tears with any of them- which I definitely credit to her coaching and skill. She is a certified nurse-midwife and I know she has done water births in the past. Let me know if you want her info.

I did a water birth at Nativiti birth center in the Woodlands (off I-45 just North of Houston) with Melanie Dossey. I had both of my kids there and they are just fabulous!

The student midwife who assisted with my 1st birth 7 years ago is here in the DFW area with a hospital midwives group. I know her third child was a water birth at home. I don't know if they do water births, but maybe she can help you find someone. Her name is Candis Pannell.

S.,

Allen Birthing Center is accredited. They have 2 birth tubs. If you live within 20 miles of the center, they will come to your house for a home birth. You can rent a tub in your home and they will help set that up.

Good luck.

Hi S.,
I delivered my daughter in November at the Birth and Women's Center in Dallas. It's on Swiss Avenue, a block away from Baylor Dallas. There are two CNM's there, Cherie and Carol. I had Cherie for my delivery. It was wonderful, I LOVE them and the birth center. Here is the website: http://www.birthcenter.net/default.asp
They have pictures/tours on there of the birth center and the bedroom to deliver in, as well as the tub used for water birth.
Hope that helps. If you have any questions for me or anything you can email me!
J.
