Looking for Quality Toy Race Track

I am not sure what part of town you are in, but you might want to try Larry's Hobbies (1960 @ 45) in the Petsmart shopping center. We buy a lot of radio controlled cars from them and we also buy a lot of gifts there. They will be able to help you find something that your son will enjoy. There is another hobby shop in The Woodlands in the Portofino shopping center. It is next to the Vitamin Shoppe. They have a lot of cool stuff for kids too. I can't wait until my son gets old enough to play with that kind of stuff. Because this is a hobby shop and not a toy shop, things tend to work better and last longer. Of course, you may have to pay a little more.

my son is also five and i recently purchased him a track and car set from cars... it is a small snaptogether round set and comes with two cars.. you pull the cars back and they race around the track themselves he loves this toy also he has a thomas the train track set and gets hours of enjoyment from it....hope this helps by the way neither are frustrating i shy away from anything too frustrating because my son is also easlily frustrated...

If you want quality toys, you should look into Discovery toys. I like them because no matter how old the toys get, if they break, the company will replace them FREE !!!!! My girlfriend is a Dicovery Toys Consultant and lives in the Woodlands. She will be glad to talk to you about the toys as many of them are educational and kids of all ages love them. Many of them have add on component that allow the toy to "grow" with the child so they don't only play with them for a year or two. I had one of their toys given to me when someone passed toys onto my granddaughter three or four years ago. One little tiny piece was missing from the set and when I called to ask how much that piece was, they no longer stocked that item but they sent me something almost the exact same but improved, at no cost and didn't even ask me to send in the one we had. I started really investing in them when my girlfriend became a consultant and know that my kids/grandkids and anyone I buy them for will have them for a lifetime and will be able to pass them on when they have children. The surprising part is that the initial investment in the toys is no more than any quality toy you would get at Toys R Us, but try to take these back in 5 or 6 years......you won't get anything unless you are dealing with Discovery Toys!!!! We had the same dilemma and I bought one "remote control" race track first that was just junk so I returned it and kept looking for quite a long time. I did end up buying a Hot Wheels track and we have been very happy with it. My kids take it apart and put it back together and it has worked really nicely. It takes batteries so there are no "remotes" where they control the cars - the only downside is maybe the batteries but we haven't gone through that many. I can't recall the name of the exact track we bought but it is one that spins and has a loop in it. Good luck finding what you want!
