Looking for Nut-free Birthday Cake

I don't know of any nut free bakeries either but I made my son's birthday cakes. I would ask the bakeries and see what they offer. WIth food allergies so prominent I would think they have made accomodations for it. The Betty Crocker website has some really cool ideas for cakes and I just googled peanut free and vegan cakes and gotten several good recipes from there. One of my son's best friends is allergic to dairy and nuts among other things. Just use your cake recipe with their cake designs. I've made him a Transformer cake and lego cake that way. People at the party didn't know until I told them it was vegan and peanut free. They came out pretty good. Good luck.

Wow, I assume homemade recipes could avoid nut allergies, right? As for forms and special stuff, there is a place in Corridor Marketplace in Laurel on 198 just off 295. Maybe they can help with the allergy thing too. (right beside a Kohl's)

Maybe go to the nearest large bookstore and see if they have any allergy cookbooks. The other lady is right, allergies are pretty prominent theses days, you would think companies would start catering to it.

Boy, I feel so lucky. My kid's not allergic to anything. Hopefully he'll outgrow the nut allergy too. Wouldn't that be cool. Good luck!

I don't know of any bakeries that are exclusively nut free. Can you not specify at a bakery that you need a nut free cake due to an allergy? I have never had experience with food allergies so I have never had to research it before. If its hard to get a bakery you could always bake the cake yourself. There are a lot of really neat cake pans for kids these days. You can go to a place like Michael's or probably A.C. Moore and have a pretty good selection. If I was in your postion that's probably what I would do. Good luck on your cake hunt.

Try Whole Foods if there is one in your area. I'm not sure about nut free but they definately make egg free and wheat free.

My neighbors son has a peanut allergy and orders cakes from Mr. Charles country store on the corner of Walnut avenue and Park Heights Ave. When you are on Walnut Ave. make a right on Park Heights and the store is on your left. Its in a residental area. Hope this is helpful.
