Looking for Midwife

I had my 4th baby with the Certified Nurse Midwife at Special Beginnings Birth Center in Grand Prarie. Awesome experience and she is able to take most kinds of insurance for an out of hospital birth! http://www.special-beginnings.com/

I've also heard wonderful things about Gail Johnson http://www.midwife-cpm.com/. I had my 2nd baby at home with a coleague of hers who is no longer practicing.

Absolutely adore Molly Germash, she is in Weatherford and you can find her on the Texas Midwives site (www.texasmidwives.com)

I've also heard great things about the Hurst midwife being reccomended to you. And. Well, we have quite a few amazing ones here, good place to move!

There are quite a few midwife options in the area. As the previous poster stated--there is a brand new birth center in Hurst with 4 or 5 midwives, there are 2 birth centers in Grand Prairie, numerous home birth midwives and a practice that works out of Harris Hospital in Down town Ft Worth.
PM me if you want referrals for any of these--I am just not sure what type of midwife you are looking for. Not sure how it is in Chicago but in Texas there is a difference! I delivered with a midwife back in May and it was incredible!!!

I also love Molly Germash. She delivered my son two years ago and as soon as we get pregnant again I'll use her again. She has a new birthing center in Weatherford. I'm not sure but I think she also still works out of the birthing center in Grand Prairie. I delivered at home, so she will do birthing center or home. go to www.texasmidwives.com.
