Hey mamas!
Currently in a 60-70 hour a week job and while I like working, I don't like working these hours and seeing the stress it causes on my family. I'm in business/marketing and while I know flex schedules and part time work is out there- I haven't been lucky enough to find that opportunity. SO, I've recently been considering a change in careers to something a bit more hands on and flexible or part time. I'm looking for any recommendations of careers that often have better work scenarios. For instance, recently looked into Speech Pathology, etc...

Thanks for any advice!

What can I do next?

Speech pathology, occupational therapy and physical therapy are great fields to get into. With 1 in every 6 children with a developmental delay we need lots of services. The population is getting older with chronic diseases and all these services are needed in that population too.

So, I bet you figured out that us stay-home, part-time, multi-level and direct sales people would jump all over this posting!! Well, you have to know that what you would be doing has to be with a company and product that you love. Once you have found that, the business plan needs to be lucrative and the training and support readily available. With Arbonne, you can will your biz to your kids, drive a company Benz, and take trips, rewards while earning an unlimited paycheck.

I will invite you to check out Arbonne International. As a cancer survivor, I cannot say enough about the safety of Arbonne's products as compared to OTC, dept store brands and, yes, even other home based model brands. It's a huge bonus to me that they all work the way they say they will with incredible results. They will train you and support you both online and in person, regardless of whether or not they are in your downline, sideline, etc (in other words, even if it does not benefit them financially). Love the integrity of the people that I work with.

So do yourself a favor and check out a company before someone spews their plans for you all over your kitchen counter. There is a meeting at the Park Place Mercedes on Lemon Ave this Saturday, July 3 at 9:00 AM for information. I am happy to provide you with samples of our best products at no cost to you, too.

Feel free to contact me for more information - I won't be bugging your mommapedia inbox if you don't reply! THE BEST WISHES FOR YOU ON YOUR SEARCH - TRULY.

Hello,

You could look into court reporting...

Wow, I guess you are overwhelmed with MLM's. That happens when someone posts a job inquiry.

Go for them if that floats your boat but I prefer to steer clear of them.

That said....schools use speech pathologist.

It sounds like you have a good background. You could be your own consultant for companies needing someone to assist with marketing but not have the funds to hire full time. Network with these clients and friends to see if you might have a fit. You can build your own marketing business and set your own hours.

Whatever you do, I wish you success.

Dear E.,
Have you ever considered being your own boss? I am a single mom of to daughters ages 12 and 14. I run my own Mary Kay business and mentor a team of women who also run their own businesses. They don't pay me anything. Mary Kay pays me for being their biggest cheerleader. I make 50% profit on my own sales as I care for my own customers on top of that. I never knew how to take care of my own skin or wear make-up before I started. I was taught everything. If you are teachable and a self starter those are two traits I look for when agreeing to mentor someone who wants to have her own business. You would have to be willing to teach skin care and color cosmetic tips.
The first step would be for me to share with you what I do and show you on paper the marketing plan. You can then ask as many questions as you desire. Mary Kay has been around for over 45 years and is going to be around for many more so the timing is up to you. Even if I share with you and you find it is not for you, that does not offend me. I just know how Mary Kay can help relieve the stressors you mentioned.
Whatever is great for you is great with me!
Sincerely,
R.

Hello there,

I was in your situation for so many years! I spent 26 years in the "corporate world" with all the hustle and bustle, headaches, stress, others taking credit for my work, politics, etc. and I gave it all up - NEVER to go go back.

Have you ever thought of being an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics? Being a consultant has truly made me a happier, less stressed person. I am able to spend more time with my children and husband, and the flexible hours are really hard to beat! It is amazing to be in business for yourself, set your own hours, make good money, and be happy! It's the most rewarding thing I have ever done for myself. Plus - we are enriching women's lives.

Feel free to visit my website and explore the opportunities available! Let me know if I can answer any questions you may have. http://www.marykay.com/jillgordon

Have a great day!

I know the feeling, I left my well paying, long hour professional position 8 years ago and work from home 10 to 15 hours a week. I love what I do, I make a difference and have more income. I love to share with you, let me know if still looking.
