Looking for a Pediatric Dermatologist Anywhere

Anyone have recommendations for a pediatric dermatologist? I tried to make an appt with one at Children's Memorial and the next appt availability is January..

OMG they are all like that! I have been trying to get an appt. for my 3 year old daughter, but no one had appts. available until end of Oct or Dec. It is crazy! I have to stick to those on my HMO plan, so it makes it even harder.

Anyway, I've tried about 9 different docs and finally found one that got us in. Dr. Tina Venetos. She has an office in Wilmette, but is only in on Weds. there. Her other office is in Lake Forest, but I'm not sure what days she is there.

Our appt. is tomorrow, so I can't really comment on how good she is yet, but I am hopeful! If you send me a message tomorrow to remind me, I will let you know how it went!

The number there is ###-###-####
Good luck!

We did try to make an appointment with docs at Childrens Memorial as well, and got the same answer as you did.
There are a couple of Ped. Dermatologist at Rush Medical Center and we could make an app. with them fairly easily. Go to Rush's
website and you can find them through their specialist finder.

Goodluck!

that sounds about right. it took me 3 months to get an appt as well. i saw dr meyer (?) in the westchester location. not sure where you are located but the childrens' doc was a second opinion. dr. lee out of dupage medical group on highland in lombard was very good too and was able to see her within two weeks. you can also get on a wait list for cancellations.

We saw Dr Mancini with Children's, but at the Glenview location (glenbrook hospital). We got in relatively quickly. I come from the food allergy perspective, so if it's eczema or hives, I'd try to make an appt with a ped allergist. We see Dr Kim - also w/ Children's at Glenview location (on wednesdays)

We did see a dermatologist first, who thought it was allergic.

Good luck!

Hi, if the visit is not urgent I recommend Dr. Mancini at childrens. He is awesome! Really talks to you and I never felt rushed, unlike the other 2 I saw at childrens(paller and ? ) Unfortunately I did have to wait 3mos. to get in unless your pediatrician can make a call for you to get you in earlier.

Did your pediatrician ask you to find one? What are your child's symptoms? Rashes, hives, dry skin, etc. could be signs of reactions from skincare products, laundry detergents, food allergies, etc. It is so important to find the source versus getting a cream (may have steroids) to help the reaction. Unless you have eliminated the cause, the symptoms will always be there. Don't know the real issue here, but I wish you all well. It is very frustrating feeling helpless when our children are suffering. We moms want to "fix" everything but sometimes the answer may be right under our noses. Just trying to shed some light on any areas that may not have been thought about. Best of luck to you.
