Hi Moms-
You all have been so helpful with other medical referrals I've requested, so I thought I'd try another request. I'm new to Glenview, and looking for a good ped for kids 4,5 8. My 8 yr old came home with a fever and sore throat last week (turned out to be strep). We went to Glenbrook Ped's, but I have to say I wasn't too impressed. The first contact we had with the receptionist was less than welcoming. Dr. G was great, but there was not a lot of compassion from the nurses. Just wondering if there is another practice out there that someone can refer to me that they just love. Thanks very much!

What can I do next?

Hi A.,

We've been going to Town and Country Pediatrics and love it...we see Dr. Pollen, but to be honest, we've not had a bad experience with any of the dr....the Glenview office is great and is on Patriot Ave. in the Glen....they also have offices on Halsted and on Lincoln avenue....

Good luck.

Children's Healthcare Associates located at 1500 Shermer in Northbrook. ###-###-#### Their main office is in Chicago and this is their branch office. I have been going there for 3 years and over that time have seen every doctor in the practice and have liked all of them. Primary drs are Dr. Monroe and Dr. Lyons. They are very accomodating with sick child appts. We used to live in the city so have only been going to this office for the last year.

Hi A.-
We moved out to Glenview about 1.5 years ago from the city and have been taking my 2 year old to Town and Country Pediatrics. They have an office in the Glen area and a couple in downtown. They have a large number of doctors in the Glenview office, however I typically can get into see the doctor I want. My daughter has seen Dr. Hirsch for all of the big milestone appointments and he is just great with her. I have been really happy with all of the doctors we have seen there though. The nursing staff has been great on the phone when I have had questions. They have hours on Saturday and if you had an emergency on Sunday-the downtown office is open. They also are associated with a couple of different hospitals including Northwestern Prentice downtown. I hope this helps and welcome to Glenview!

A.,
When our pediatrician left Glenbrook Peds we followed him. We had similiar experiences with them...long wait times, rarely seeing our primary ped., etc.

Our doctor is Dr. Jim Olsen and he is located close to Old Orchard Shopping mall in Skokie. His office is not fancy;but, that is not a top need for me. He is reliable and thoughtful in working with kids. He and his business partner Dr. Mary Hall will be the ones you see and interact with each and every time. I can't say enough good about him. Their pracice is called Kids Health Partners and they can be reached at ###-###-####. Tell them Liam's mom sent you.
Best wishes!

I would also highly recommend Children's Healthcare Associates on Shermer. The number is ###-###-####. I love every one of the dr.s there. And the nurses are really fantastic. (I call in a lot). We also went to their main office in the city and then moved to the suburban office two years ago.

I loved Dr. Walter Campbell and Dr. Nicolas Tapas. There only 2 doctors in practice and one nurse-practicioner. They have everyday sick walk-in hours in the morning. Very good doctors, the only issue is waiting times, as they take their time with each patient. I was taking my kids there for 3 years, until we moved.
They are located at:

2401 Ravine Way # 101

we go to town and country peds in the city and i know they have an office in glenview (not sure if it's in "the glen" proper, but i think it's somewhere around there. their website is townandcontrypeds.com... they have late office hours and saturday hours. my only issue with them has been their sick child appts... they only take them day-of, which makes sense, but you have to be on the phone the second they open to get an appt that isn't at 7pm--they fill up really quickly, at least in the city!

hope that's helpful.

Try Dr. Bob Minkus in Skokie/Lincolnwood - part of Northshore Hospitals - formally Evanston Northwestern.
He is amazing. He was my ped when I was a baby/teen - and now he is my son's ped. He is great.

Hi A.,

I also live in Glenview and we see Dr. Goldberg through the Northshore medical group. They have an office right by Old Orchard. The staff is always very friendly and helpful and we love Dr. Goldberg. Our son is only 6 months, so we haven't needed to use any of the other doctors in the group, but I have heard very good things about the rest of the doctors!
Here's a link to Dr. Goldberg's information on the Northshore website: http://www.northshore.org/apps/findadoctor/doctor.aspx?do...

Good luck and welcome to Glenview!

My 3 went to Pediatric Associates of the North Shore. They are at 3633 West Lake Avenue in Glenview, just off of Lake Stree.
Dr. Brunner and Dr. Lewy
###-###-####
Anytime I had a problem with a sore throat or sickness somehow they got me in that day.
Now that they are 18, 23 and 25 we need to find someone else. They are too tall to see a Pediatric Dr!

I also go to Children's Healthcare in Northbrook. Love it and the nurses are wonderful. If you want something closer, my friend loves Dr Mary Hall who a previous poster wrote in about.
