Looking for a Local Pediatrician

I take my daughter to the healthy kids care center in Munster on Columbia Ave. Very close to Community hospital. There are 2 peds. there. Dr Anger and Dr. Dershewitz (I hope I spelled that right). We see Dr Dershewitz. My dd is almost 15 months old and so far we really like him and the nurses are all wonderfull too. The number is ###-###-####. We met Dr. Anger at the hospital when dd was born and he seemed really nice as well.

I take my 16 month old son to Dr. Katbi in Highland on 45th Ave. Her business is called Pediatric Healthcare Associates. I really like her. She explains things very well and listens to what you have to say. She has a partner Dr. Tumacdor who we have not been to, but I hear that Dr. Katbi is way better. I work at the hospital in Munster and a lot of people have said good things about Dr. Katbi. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Hi N. ~ I take my child (whos is about to turn 6) to Dr. Christina Tumacder at Pediatric Healthcare Associates in Highland. We have been seeing her for over a year now. My original pediatrician retired and we searched & searched for a good one. We actually saw a Dr previously recommended to you (email me if you wnat to know which one) but I found his attitude to be condisending towards my questions. (I did not appreciate being "shhhh'ed" when I asked a question about my daughter's health)

Dr Tumachder is a mom of 3 young girls & speaks to patients on their level. Even after kindergarten shots, my daughter is not afraid to go to the doctor...and that is great! If you would like the phone number, please let me know. Good luck in your search!

Hi N., my name is L. and we take our son to a Doctor named Geetha Sivam she is in Highland, but very near the Munster border, anyways she is wonderful she will spend as much time with you as you need and she is very good with my son, she was recommended to me through the University of Chicago because my son was a preemie and I was told she was great and she is. Her staff is also very nice, they get right back to me if I call with any questions and the few times that I have called and said I need to get in there today they have accomadated me with no problems. I recommend Dr. Cristina Samson Tumacder. She is WONDERFUL!!!. She used to be at the Child Life Center that another poster above mentioned but she opened up her own practice with another female doctor. She is in Highland, which isn't far from Munster. ###-###-#### Address: 3145-45th Street Suite M

I have 3 daughters 10 years, 9 years and 5 mos. What I love about her is that she gets to know her patients. We've been going to her for at least 7 or 8 years and she knows my kids when she sees them by their names. She remembers what's going on with them medically and personally even before she opens the chart. This was especially apparent when we made the transition from Child Life to her new office. At that time, we had to start new files because she hadn't received the medical records from the old office but she still remembered my girls.

My husband's job has changed insurance several times and there was a brief period of time where she wasn't in the insurance network. Well, it was VERY difficult. During that time, our older daughters saw different pediatricians at the Child Life Center and none of them compared to Dr. Tumacder in my opinion. They weren't bad. They just weren't as wonderful as she is. The first opportunity I had, I switched my daughters back to her and we've been with ever since.

As you can probably tell, I love her. :-)

My children go to The Child Life Center which is now on Hohman Ave. in Hammond. It used to be in Munster on Calumet but they just moved. Its actually now called Medical Specialists Child Life Center. The nurses and doctors are very nice and always helpful. We have seen both Dr. Starchman and Dr. Chowdhury. On a regular basis we see Dr. Chowdhury now, to be honest he's kind of hard to understand but he's very detailed in anything you want to know(such as drawing diagrams and making sure you understand everything) I hope that helps you.
