I just started jogging with my toddler (2yrs/29lbs). We got the InStep LTD jogger which was rated very well on websites but I wish it had a pivoting front wheel. I bought this one on Craigslist so I'd still be open to getting another one if it's great but I just wanted some feedback from the Chicago mamas out there who run downtown. (I also do 5K's and just did one with him on the Lakefront this weekend and stroller was okay, but thinking there may be better...)

We have the Bob Revolution - the front wheel has a switch where you can change it from stationary wheel to a swivel wheel, depending on what you are doing with the stroller at the time - best of both worlds! And, the weight limit is much higher than other jogging strollers (I think 70 pounds?), so it has a longer life. Hope this helps.

I live in the West Loop (use to work at EBC) and I love my BOB SUV stroller..however it does not have a swivel wheel either, but I often hear other moms say they prefer it b/c the Chicago sidewalks are to be desired. You want the ability for the stroller to absorp the bumps in the sidewalks/roads..the swivel wheel will get to wobbly. I love my stroller, get a little extra tricep workout when I have to prop her up to turn, but she loves it and we make it fun.

I have a BOB revolution I think and the front wheel swivels. I can lock it for running though. I absolutely love it! I use it everyday and seriously couldn't live without it.
they say for a real jogging stroller it should not pivot.I have a jeep stroller with the pivoting wheel but I just like the ease of the stroll and how it is easier to walk with.But when I bought it they warned me if i really wanted to run to get the no pivot wheel...don't remember why.
