Looking for a Good Pediatric Dentist in Southlake or Keller

Does anyone have a recommendation in regards to a great pediatric dentist in Southlake/Keller area? My twins are almost two and I think I definitely need to get them in for a first checkup. I want for it to be a very child friendly place as I feel they are really not going to care for the exam much (based on the struggles we have with toothbrushing alone).

Any recommendations and/or tips on how to make this first experience go well would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much,
G.

My ex-husband's wife is a pediatric dentist. She did her residency here in Southlake at a few places. The one that she recommended to me for my 2 year old is Dr. Armstrong. IT's a female and she's located in Southlake.... I was told that if she had kids that's where she would take them (if she weren't a dentist herself). I believe it's Sandra Armstrong.

You already have a lot of great rec's. i have also heard that Dr. Robert's is great. We just took my 5 and 3 year old boys to Dr. Gober at Smiles 4 Kids on Colleyville Blvd. He and his staff were wonderful! My 5 year old possibly has Asperger's which is why we waited so long. We could not imagine him complying with a dental exam! He did great! There were lots of toys and the staff and doctor were beyond friendly. I just can't recommend them highly enough!

This isn't in Southlake or Keller, but Dr. Michelle Lindsay at Children's Dentistry in Arlington is WONDERFUL. The whole staff is great. She will take her time, is very gentle, and talks the kids through the whole process. ###-###-####, they are located in Lincoln Square, near I-30 and Collins.

I def. agree w/ Erika. I worked for Dr. Roberts and she is so sweet and dosent puch the kiddos.....they generally always leave happy even if they had alot of work done. She makes a point to make the first exam a breeze and fun..most couldnt wait to come back. You really should give her a try....Im about to take my 3 yr old there soon if shes on our insurance...fingers crossed. C.

I take my son to Dr Dan Donahue. He is right off of Keller Parkway. I don't know if he has a Keller or Southlake address. He is great with kids. If they don't want to get up in the dental chair he will do a lap exam. My son really liked him and his office is very kid friendly. His phone # is ###-###-####.

Good luck.

G.,

I personally know a great dentist who just opened up a practice in Roanoke which is not far at all from Keller. He is a personal friend of mine and has seen my son (21 months) too. Here is the website - http://www.lantzychildrensdentistry.com/. He is great with kids. If you go, let him know that A. recommended him.

Hi G.,
It isnt in Southlake/Keller but on N. Beach & Western Center in very North Fort Worth (Kroger shopping strip) there is a great dentist that my 21 month old son went to visit for a first checkup. They have toys in the waiting room, are very friendly and seem to love kids. They let us hold him during the first exam so he would not be scared and he got toys as a reward on the way out! Very nice female dentist! Her info is:

Roberts Susan Dds
6650 North Beach Street Suite 118, Fort Worth, TX 76137

I also have a tooth brushing suggestion. My son used to bite my fingers when I brushed and we started singing twinkle twinkle little star while I brush. This helps with two things. He sings along and that prevents the biting or any anxious behavior and he knows that we brush until the song is over. I actually caught him in his room with his toothbrush last week singing and brushing (playing) on his own.

Good Luck!
E.
