Looking for a Good Internist...

My mom has been experiencing some problems with her face swelling in different areas, usually around her mouth... and on different sides at different times. It's completely random. She's been to the allergist and to the Urgent Care after a severe occurrence one night. they found that she had extremely high blood pressure and told her to find an internist. Her face swelled again this past weekend, but her blood pressure was normal. This is very odd and we don't know what to think of it all. So, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good internist I can refer her to?
i would really appreciate the help!

What can I do next?

If you live in San Antonio, I highly recommend Dr Maria Jirka. She is very good and takes her time with each patient. She will not hesitate to refer you should you need a referral.

Hi E.,
When I was looking for a specialist I went to Healthgrades.com. You enter internist and they will give you a list with locations and reviews of patients along with their gender, etc.
I found a great endocronologist and would use them again.

I agree it could be the medication she is taking. High Blood pressure wouldn't make this happen. I know I have had my share of reactions to medications. However I see an Internist by the name of Kevin Horton off of Sontera in the Stone Oak area. He is absolutely great. I don't know if he is taking new patients but if not they can recommend one and I believe there are other Internists in his office. It is called IMed. Good Luck

Hi E.....could it be a new medication she may be taking that's causing her an allergic reaction.....my MIL had taken Ibuprofen to help her get some body ache relief and her face swell up and it turned out that she was allergic to Ibuprofen.....sorry I wouldn't know more about this but she should get checked out.....wishing you and your mom the best...
