Hi,
does anybody know a good contractor in the Plano, Allen, Frisco, McKinney areas that doesn't overcharge? We have started to enclose a loft to convert it into an additional bedroom and now we need someone to finish it. We would also need a painter.
Thanks for your help.

Here are three very reputable contractors that do a lot of work in the Dallas area. They all do quality work and will do everything they can to make sure you are happy with your renovation.

Griff Hendon ###-###-####
Gary Vaughn ###-###-####
Bob McDonald ###-###-####

None of these guys will be the cheapest contractor out there, however, with a home renovation, cheap is not what you are looking for. A good rule of thumb is to have 3 to 4 contractors bid the job, and toss out the high and low bids and pick the one in the middle.

I have a ton of rental property and I use Rudy Riddle for that kind of work; ###-###-####. Every year I have as many as 17 apartments turn, and he paints all of them. He is also a carpenter and recently he did all the construction on a flip that had to be practically rebuilt from the bottom up. I think his prices are quite reasonable and I have used him for more than a decade. As the other poster mentioned, you may want to get more than one bid/referral and go with the one you feel most comfortable with.

Bob Fackler of Kingsman Homes. He is currently doing our project. He allowed us to buy our own materials saving lots of money. We had a couple of quotes (we bought our materials) and he was in line with the rest and came highly recommended. His number is ###-###-####.

Hi I.,

My husband works for Home Depot Services, but does work on the side. We moved to the McKinney area from Maryland 7 months ago and my husband is trying to start his own home improvement business. He provides free estimates, is very professional and very reliable.

You can give him a call at ###-###-####. His name is Bryan and you can tell him his wife, R., gave you his contact info.

Background info: Bryan has over 20 years of home improvement experience. He had a well established home improvement company in Maryland called B&B Builders. Due to my job transfer we had to relocate.

We used Elite Remodeling in Frisco to build a room addition above our garage. We have a friend that is an architect that designed our room and helped me interview contractors. Elite had the best price and our experience was a very positive one!

We have used Jerry Carter Homes ###-###-#### on several occasions to do bathroom makeover, media room and our front entry. He's very reliable and trustworthy. The painter we have used most recently is Buford Webb ###-###-#### or ###-###-####. He's very good and neat; shows up everyday and does a great job. He's not great at color ideas and doesn't do faux finish, but he's a really good person.

I don't know of any contractors but I do know of a really good painter. Call Fresh Look Interiors at ###-###-####. They did my interior and exterior painting and not only was the quality of work very good, the price was extremely competitive with the other bids I got.
