Does anyone know where I can find resources for legal advice about my marriage? I'm looking to possibly file for legal saparation and joint custody, but I have absolutely no money for a lawyer. I don't even have a job right now. I would need somone pro bono (sp.?) or really cheap. Any leads would greatly help. I don't even know where to start! Thanks!

What can I do next?

Try Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago or other Legal Aid organization.

I am hoping you really think about this. I was divorced many years ago with same age differences as your children. I was sure I had to get divorced. I am happily remarried, but it was such a horrible thing to go through. I went through paralegal school recently. After I got divorced and spent a lot of money and realized that this is never cheap. And I was not treated correctly in court. It would take way too long to tell my story, but unless you are being beaten or overly emotionally abused I think being pregnant, having another small one and you are a stay at home mom, you might take your time with this. There are not a lot of pro bono lawyers out there for divorce situations. They want large retainers and you are starting out with no money, may end up with more than no money. Be very careful about this. Unless you have one of the Princes holding a home near the palace for you and he gave you an ultimatum perhaps you should clear up why you are leaving. Is the guy boring, did someone in the grocery store notice you are beautiful? There are a lot of things that will trip up a temporarily boring marriage. Well, that's not what you asked for but I went through a lot of pain and to this day I wonder if it was the right thing and it was many, many years ago. Good luck!

Depending on where you live, there will be pro bono legal services regarding divorce, separation, custody, children, support, division of assets and the like available to you. Search the yellow pages, online of course. Best to you!
