Does anyone have a pediatric ophthalmologist that they can reccommend? My daughter is 8 and has a lazy eye. She has been wearing glasses and seeing a doctore for about 2 years now. We patch 2hrs a day or 6hrs on the weekend... But, her eyesight has not improved. Our current doctor said that when a child turns 9 thier eyesight is what it is and will no longer improve. I am wanting to get a second opinon as she will be 9 in October.

Thanks for any suggestions.

My son has seen Dr. Karen Robertson also at Arizona Pediatric Eye Specialists for about 8 years. We went through glasses, patches and eventually she had to do surgery on his eyes. I've been extremely happy with her.

Well, I will look up my daughter's pediatric opthomalogist and get back to you. I do have something to say about the development of the eyes. If my eyes were never to change after I turned nine, why are so many adults wearing glasses? They wear corrective lenses to, well, just a guess, to correct their eyes! I don't know what that doctor was thinking when he said that. It's just silly!

My baby had lazy eye in both eyes (could not track objects, always dizzy and was all year getting ear infections that ruptured her ear drums every time). She got lasar surgery done and within three days she was walking and talking. She never ruptured again and has had very very few ear or sinus infections since then. We are still continuing to get physical therapy because of the significant delay in gross motor skills. She is 5 yrs old now and she was 18 months when she had the surgery

I would talk to your pediatrician about finding a specialist, but I will let you know when I find ours again.
