Congratulations on the weight loss! That is awesome! am heavy chested as well (H) and the best sports bra that I have found has been from Road Runner Sports, They are pricey, but worth every penny! Running is very comfortable with a good sports bra.
They are online and they do have a store in San Diego.

Actually I use 2. I have since highschool gym class when I started getting bigger ones early. I still do when I go on the treadmill. I use my regular, supportive underwire one and then a sports bra over that. The underwire one keeps them in from the bottom, and the sports one keeps them in at the top. They barely move I have DDs too!

I have been happily running almost everyday for a year. It is by Enell...but I found mine at Title 9...it's called the Last Resort Bra for those of us heavy chested.....I am a 40DD.....google Title 9 or could be Title Nine...I don;t remember but they are located in San Franciso...GREAT customer service...pricey at $60 each but so worth it.....I have a whole new life. Good luck!

I use regular underwire and then the Enell sports bra on top. This is mainly because I hate the "uni-breast" effect. Can not stand when the breasts are smooshed together(lol) As you know there is more bounce to the ounce in DD's so I just minimize it by doubeling it up. Congrats on the weight loss!!

I have a Cuz She Says So & last resort bras. LOVE CS3. TLR is a little on the small side for me as a 38DDDD/E. http://www.titlenine.com/category/sports-bras-and-undies.... but the CS3 is perfect. Title9 has tons and tons of different styles... underwire, soft cups, uniboob, racerback, etc. Phenom store.

S.,

I too am a large busted (38DD) runner. I forked over the $50 for an Under Armor t-back sports bra from Sports Chalet and it's great! It's a little tough to get into and out of because there's no hooks or latches but once it's on, it's snug and comfortable.

For me, YES, a good jogging bra made all the difference. I hated running, and thought I just couldn't do it because of my 38DDs. But then someone tipped me onto actual running bras, and everything changed. My current favorites, which I bought at specialty running stores, are by Moving Comfort and CW-X.

I only wish I had this problem, but my mom does. She loves the Enell sports bra. She says she can run, jump, do everything and her girls stay in place and don't bounce. She highly recommends it.

I am a runner for many years and am fairly top heavy. Yes..a good sports bra most definitely makes a difference! Since everyone is a little different, the best thing to do is go to a running store (I go to Road Runner Sports) and have someone fit you. You'll want to try on several different styles to see what works best, but once you are fit properly, it really does make all the difference. Good luck and keep running!

I"m a breast-feeding mother and I also wear a DD. I found that I have to wear two sports bras or even better one sports bra under a super tight halter top sports tank. Another thing that's worked for me is wrapping my chest in an ace-bandage and then putting a sports bra on top of that. Good luck! And Good work! :)

Whatever you do, DON"T buy cheap sports bras.... they don't work!

Hi S.-

Good jogging bras make a HUGE difference! I recently bought mine from the San Diego Running Institute. http://www.sdri.net/ I also am large breasted and found the perfect bra, and can't believe the support it is giving me. (I can't remember the name but if you want it email me and I'll get it for you.) Running is much, much more comfortable!! They don't have a huge selection of bras, but have 3 or 4 that are made for large breasted women.
I love the SDRI because they always sponsor informative stretching, injury prevention, dehydration typr of lectures. They also have different training clubs. I trained and did the RnR with them, and my husband is a member of their trail running group.

Good luck!!
Stephanie
I haven't tried Title-9 for bras but do like their products.

Hi S.,

I like the moving comfort bras. The one I have is called Fiona. It holds the girls in very well. Kickboxing and jogging is good in this bra. I still don't like jumping that much ie jumping jacks but this bra holds them better than any other that I have tried including the Enell.

When you're chesty it takes more than a sports bra. Use a supportive underwire bra and use the sports bra in addition over that one. And sometimes a tight supporting top in addition to the two bras. That should keep the girls in place.

Where two jog bras for support. Also, since you live in San Diego, check out Roadrunner Sports store. Their flagship store is there. They are known for their extensive selection of bras that help women of all sizes and have the best running bras for any need. They are also online, but it's always nice to go in and try on different bras to see which one feels the best. Hope that helps. (my husband works at the one in Torrance, so I know all about this - not a salesperson - haha.)

Title Nine. I use the "frog bra" - it's been several years since I purchased them, so I'm not sure if they still sell them. I hate to run, but I do use it for intense workouts, and have been very satisfied...and I'm an F-G. I remember looking at The Last Resort Bra from Title Nine as well. I've been pleased with Title Nine overall... :)

I second the Title 9 recommendation. They are mostly catalog, but do have a store in La Jolla. The biggest selection of exercise bras I've seen (Road Runner Sports is pretty good, but Title 9 has a better selection, including some that don't just squash everytthing).

And yes, I'm tiny, but still feel more comfortable in a sports bra than in a regular bra. Better support and more breathable fabrics.

Find a good one that feels a little tight and sort of presses them in a little closer to you. Before you buy, ask if you can return it if it doesn't work out for you (no pun intended).

Good question. Nothing beats a great bra, 'eh ladies?! Look at all the wonderful responses too. Big flowers to all the ladies that chimed in. :-)

I have a few Champions that are rated for no bounce-heavy exercise. I do like them because they have adjustable shoulder straps and do up like a regular bra in the back. I cannot stand pulling bras down over my head or up my body. They aren't too expensive actually either, like under $40 if I recall. I decided to try an Enell Sports bra too. I just bought it. It says no bounce, so that's cool. What may irk the heck out of me is all those little hook-eyes in the front but I'll deal with that. It's supposed to be a really good bra. I look forward to trying it!

In my experience, they *can* be better. Just like regular bras, you have to try them out. The best one I ever had, I bought at a running store several years back. It had underwires and a front closure. Everything else since makes me wish I could get back to that store.

The answer is Title Nine- a catalog of sport clothes for women. They have jogging/sport bras for high impact exercise for large-busted women. They're expensive- I think about sixty dollars, but worth it to stop the pain! This is the only place I know of that really tells you what size bust and type of exercise they actually work for. Some places may have 'jogging' bras in larger sizes, but they don't work. These are really built to handle the job. I bought one, and it worked very well for me. You can find them at www.titlenine.com

Yep, I'm another DD S., and a jogging bra will minimize, though not completely eliminate, the bouncing. I love a bra I bought from lululemon. I think it's called something silly like a tata-tamer, but it works great. I do high-impact fitness classes as well as running, and the bra gets as much of a workout as the rest of me with all the jumping and bouncing.

Congratulations on your weight loss! Keep up the good work. I've lost 17 pounds, and it is a great feeling. :)

S.,

Congratulations on your weight loss! I too lost a bunch of weight years ago and I love to run. A really good bra that does it's job is so important!

I have The Last Resort Bra from Title Nine (I think it's made by Enell) and my girls don't move - at all! Oprah talked about this bra on her show many years ago and I zipped out to Title Nine right away and bought it. It's like putting your girls in a straightjacket. Yes, it is expensive, but they last forever (mine is still like new after 4 years) unlike jogging bras (I don't know why they call them jogging bras, you still bounce!). Check out Title Nine's website for a ton of info about sports bras : http://www.titlenine.com/ I'm sure there is a store in San Diego. They will measure you and make sure you get the right bra for you. Good luck!

Wow congrats on your weight loss! That's awesome.

I would go to a place like Lady Grace that specializes in bras and where the ladies really know how to fit you. I've gone to Macy's where they have fitting specialists but I think these older ladies don't always know anything about sports bras. At Lady Grace, it might be more expensive but at least you'll go home with a bra that works. It's probably cheaper overall than buying a few different cheaper bras that don't work. You'll only have to buy one, then you can rinse it in Woolite and dry it overnight on the shower rod or in the laundry room.

I've bought several bras at places like Target and they are good for exercise class or the treadmill, but if we do anything that involves "bouncing", it's a problem.

I am large breasted and could never wear anything but an underwire until I discovered Wacoal. They are expensive ($60 for a bra) and frustrating that most of the time they are excluded from store discount coupons, but it's the only kind I can wear. Congratulations on the weight loss - that's really outstanding! You must feel great!
