Help!!! My boy/girl twins will turn 3 in December, and we have decided to do a party at our home. I don't have a clue as to what to do. I would love any ideas of things for them to do, food to feed, anything that worked. We will be having about 15 kids. If they were the same sex, this would be easy, but they both have interest in different things, and with it being winter, I can't do anything outside. Thank you in advance for your suggestions!!!!

We're going to a party today that the boys will be dressing up like pirates and the girls will be princesses. This way the little girl whose birthday it is, can still have her girly birthday and yet invite some of her guy friends, too. I thought this was quite clever of the parents.
Why don't you use a winter theme? I know it sounds corny. But you could do so much with it and it would be great for kids here in texas that doesn't really get to see snow.
1. covered the whole room in snowflakes that you cut out of paper.. hang them from the ceiling.. everywhere.. let your daughter glitter some of them. You could even cut out huge ones and huge letters spelling out happy birthday to make a banner for them.
2.You could have games where you lay out layers of winter clothes like hats, mittens, jackets, boots and the kids take turns seeing who can put on all the clothes the fastest. let two kids go at a time.
3. Let someone make a cake that looks like it has a icy road on one side and a ice skating rink on the other.. Put a iceskating doll on the ice for your daughter and a rugged truck on the road for your son.
4. cover blocks of wood with regular house socks. Rope off an area of your kitchen or living room if you have wood floors and let the kids pretend to ice skate while standing on the blocks.
5. make smores using a fire pit or even the microwave
6. get some fake snow and put it in a huge tub for them to play inside with. Put in cups and other things for them to dig in it with. If cost is not an issue, cover an area of the yard outside with the fake snow and suprise your kids with it.
7. you can find some many awesome crafts online or at michaels using the foam that the kids could make and take home as their party favors.
8. make snowmen using marshmellows. let the kids decorate them with candy and icing.

My kids are 2 (girl) and 4 (boy) and their birthdays are just weeks apart. So, this year we did a combination birthday party in a Peter Pan (pirate) and Tinkerbell (fairy) theme. I made the cake - a treasure chest (found idea at birthdayexpess.com), I found pirate hats/swords and fairy skirts at the Dollar Tree, eye patches and tiara's at Oriental Trading, a 12 pack of wands at Party City for like $1.50...I also found a treasure chest pinata and filled it with "loot" - rings, necklaces, gold coins, etc. I put only a few clues to the treasure inside balloons and the older kids looked for the clues and the younger ones ran thru them making it a little more difficult. I also found a pin the eye patch on the pirate at Oriental Trading. The kids had fun being pirates or fairies and I let them take home the skirts, swords, whatever as their party favors. Other than cake we didn't have any other food - except Cap'n Crunch Pirate Shapes.
I also considered doing a superhero theme - lots of different boy/girl superheros....maybe another year! Good Luck & Have Fun!
I'm not sure how age appropriate this is but....my daughter's bday is during the holidays and we still like to celebrate on her day. When she turned 6 we had about 20 kids and some parents at my home and we had a Magician. He was very entertaining (real rabbit, etc). If you have outside space, the bounce houses are a big hit for everyone.

Hi S.- I see that this is an older request but figured I would reply incase you are thinking of having a party this year as well- We have a host assistant service that can do whatever it takes to keep you out of the kitchen and into the party- We help with set up- tending to guests, replenishing food- getting out desesrts- tidying up and keeping everything current. You WILL for the first time... enjoy your own party.
Also- I know of a woman that does a Make Your Own stuffed animal workshop- she comes to you!

Get blown in snow put in your front yard ! & do hot dogs!! They would love it ! Or rent the jumping things, they could jump in !.....
Are you having any clowns or face painting? I would set up little centers and instead of only a few children getting a prize. At the end of the party hand out the goodie bags. For the centers I would have like a basketball hoops, ring toss, a small pool and get a fishing game, pin the tail on the donkey, bingo with party words, music chairs, hot potato w/ a stuff animal instead and the list could go on. Add any more party ideas message me... The main thing is having stuff for the children to do. Are you having a jump balloon or pinata? Just some more activies. Also you can have an arts and crafts table making crowns for them to wear. Just b/c it's going to be cold doesn't mean you can't be outside. You could buy some outdoor heaters they work pretty good.

My sister had a circus party and that was super cute. You can google circus party and find lots of ideas. Dollar Tree has circus party stuff right now too. she set up some carnival games and gave out little McD's and stuffed toys for prizes. She made cupcakes and arranged them like a crcus tent but you could do a cake with animals on top or carosel theme. She also had the kids come in costumes and she and her husband dressed as clowns. They had baloon animals and face painting and cotton candy machine (a little one, not the professional rent one.)
