Regular tap water has so many additives and the nursery water is just better for the baby.

I have used nursery brand water and other kinds of water to prepare formula, and it did not seem to make any difference.
Maybe it is something else that changed the poop?

I started using it this week, since we were at babies r us and didn't want to make the trip to the supermarket to get water. so, we got the Nursery brand, so far so good, I havent seen any changes in my 18 month old, except that today she pooped three times instead of 1 like usual. It's not diarreah, poop is normal but I just started using the water yesterday so I'm inclined to think it's related. everything else is the same.
Good luck!

Our pediatrician told us we NEEDED fluoride in our babies water. They told us not to use bottled water to mix with formula unless it has fluoride in it - some nursery waters do and some do not... Our ped always recommended tap water.

Sorry, I realize this does not answer your question in any way but after reading a previous post I thought I would tell you what our doc said about fluoride. I'd check with your doctor and see what he/she says.

Boil your water and when it's cool, run it through a Brita filter. Unfortunately this doesn't get rid of flouride (which we DO NOT need), flouride is actually more poisonous than lead and just slightly less toxic than arsenic. Bottled water is unreliable as you're basically just getting tap water, plus all the plastic bottles are excessively wasteful, most will get thrown away and the plastic bottles will just leach into our soil and into our water. Get it?

The thing that worries me about nursery water, that it has fluoride in it. We are instructed to not give fluoride to babies under 12 months old, or before their teeth erupt. The amount of fluoride a small child gets, is supposed to be extremely limited. I read somewhere recently (I'm sorry, I don't know what source, so you'd definitely want to check it out...just to make sure, that it's a good source!) that the EWG, is investigating Nursery Water. They believe they are putting children and infants at risk.

(I'm quoting this)
"Because of the risk for dental fluorosis, and the lack of demonstrable benefit from ingesting fluoride before teeth erupt, the American Dental Association - and a growing number of dental researchers - recommend that children under 12 months of age should not consume fluoridated water while babies under 6 months of age should not receive any fluoride drops or pills."

"Dental fluorosis is not the only risk from early-life exposure to fluoride. A recent review in The Lancet describes fluoride as "an emerging neurotoxic substance" that may damage the developing brain. The National Research Council has identified fluoride as an "endocrine disruptor" that may impair thyroid function, while recent research from Harvard University has found a possible connection between fluoride and bone cancer.
