WHAT is going on with my baby? She is 9 months old and just started picking her nose (she loves it!!) and then instantly putting her finger in her mouth!
My son started doing this at age 2, and it repulsed me then, but 9 months? Really?
Whenever we tell her no, her lip comes out and she cries.
No, Im not a troll, this is serious and I want to know how to stop it!

On the plus side, Im thinking she is super advanced! lol

What can I do next?

My daughter at 11months was all about her nose. She would stick her finger up her nose crawl over to whoever she could get to just to stick her finger up their nose. She would then remember her fingers also go into her mouth. It is just another hole she has found on her wonderful thing called her head. Just wait until she finds her ears. She will go from ear to nose to mouth to nose to ear and start all back over. She will lose interest soon. It's something new. And telling her no is making her upset because she is just trying to learn and doesn't understand why you are saying it. Yes, it's because she is "picking" her nose but to her she is just learning about a new area. Now if she was actually pulling a booger out on purpose and then eating it okay maybe side track her but at that age nothing really is on purpose for that reason. Hope this helps.

You can't stop it. In fact, you probably have about 5 years to go!! LOL.

She's too young to understand so just push her little hand away gently and let nature run it course!

She has discovered something new and sounds quite intrigued. And when she cries when you say, "NO" I don't think she's crying b/c she can't do it...but crying b/c you said the word, "NO" to her. At that age, babies are exploring and starting to learn their limits...and when they are told "NO" it's probably not something they're used to, therefore it irks their ego a bit.

Maybe you can distract her hands with a toy or a snack. Keep her busy in some way.

My 18 mo old started doing this at 12 mos. AND she always waits to pick her nose and stick her finger in her mouth right when we go up to meet someone or when someone is talking to her about how cute she is. I just hope she outgrows it soon. It's not very ladylike... lol
