Ideas Need for a Gift

I have a really good friend who lives in another state who finally just passed the bar exam after the third try! She's a single mom and has been through a lot these past few years. I want to send her a gift basket, something unexpected and surprise to say congratuations. I've looked online, but most of the typical gift basket stuff is junky (sausage, weird crackers, mustard..etc.) and I don't want to spend my money on that. No flowers that just die either. I was thinking of godiva or bath and bad works, but it all seems so boring and normal. I'm thinking of spending 50-75 dollars. Any ideas? I don't want to do any home party type stuff.

What can I do next?

Have you heard of the womens bean project? It is a non-profit that helps train women to be self sufficient through education and job training programs. One of their bigger projects is their food products. They sell soup mixes, bread mixes and other such foods. I always get such wonderful response when I give one of their gift collections. It's not junky either. You can find them online at www.womensbeanproject.org.

seems how she just passed the BAR exam maybe do a gift basket with some office supplies like legal pads, pens, pencil, paperclips, and maybe a gift card to like starbucks or her favorite coffee place(if she doesn't like coffee maybe a breakfast place). she wont have a lot of time to get breakfast in the morning with the kids. you could also get some theme movies, like pelican breif, the client, and other "lawyer like" movies.

i hope that this hepls and i wish her luck.

If I were in her situation I would love a relaxing massage..maybe send her a gift certificate to a salon near her...Also send her letter for her to know how proud you are of her..that alone Im sure she will appreciate.

Hi C.,

Some suggestions I have would be what I would like to get if I were her. Maybe a gift certificate for a local salon for a pedicure or massage or she could use it for a haircut. I try to give my single mom nieces gift cards for target, meijer or kohls so that they can buy whatever they want or need. Flowers are nice but someting that lasts or has a pleasant memory like a pampering service seems nicer. Good luck whatever you decide. I am sure she will appreciate that you took time to do it for her.

Sincerely,
K. B.
