I Want to Fit into My Clothes Again!

I think the subject line says it all! I'm trying to start my running again, I lost 20 pounds before I got pregnant and I gained it all back plus some after his birth. Maybe once spring is here it will be better??? hopefully!

So What Happened?

It's great to know that I"m not the only one (granted I KNEW I wasn't the only one, but you know sometimes it feels that way!). I am not nursing, so I don't get the added benefit, which I've been told, is weight loss. I think that I"m just anxious to get back out there, I'm ready to go with my running stroller, I can't wait for baby and me time!! But that's still 2 months away. I've never been a great dieter, and I know that I should watch what I eat, but I haven't really had to when I started the running thing. I guess things really do change! thanks again for all of your support!

Have you tried Weight Watchers? I gained 45 pounds with my daughter. Six months after she was born I had lost 32 of those pounds but I felt awful! I started Weight Watchers 6 weeks ago and I've already lost 12 pounds. I wouldn't say it has been easy, but it has given me the motivation and the discipline to eat more healthy meals.

I too would love to lose the wieght. I have 3 year old twins and have gained alot of weight. I've never got into running much but have really been thinking of starting. I also have asthma so a little working up to running alot will be my goal.

i hear ya! i also have a 4 month old. and still have 30lbs to lose!! talk about overwhelming! i started the flat belly diet last week and have lost 4lbs so far- at first it was hard because you have to get all the sugar and refined foods out of your system, but the last couple of days i havent even wanted sweets! you eat protien, vegies, dairy, carbs, fruit..ok i guess everything! it teaches you to eat certain good fats at a meal that targets your belly fat- which i have plenty of! good luck to you!

I wanted to let you know that your not alone... My daughter is 4 months also. I am still trying to loose the weight I gained after my 4yr old was born...

We are going to be buying an Ellipitcal and I hope it helps!!!

Don't be too h*** o* yourself. It took me 6 months to get back down to my pre-pg weight. And even then, my weight was in different places (had a muffin top but face and arms were thinner, kwim?). Just be prepared, you may not be able to get back to the exact same figure, but you can still look good!
I joined Curves two months ago and am seeing some improvement and I'm definitely more tone, which was my biggest complaint since I did not exercise much while pg because I was on partial bedrest. I reduced my body fat % 8 points in just one month (that was exercising 2x a week so not a huge amount).
It's all about choices! Good luck with the running! And it will also give you some good "me" time which I'm finding is important as a first time mom.

Spring always helps, the winter is a little bit of a struggle here in MN. Try juicing. www.hacres.com has some great info on the subject.

Find an activity/activities you love (not just do 'cause you "have to"). Then revel in the luscious feeling you get after you have exercised. Remind yourself of that feeling for next time.

Not trying to brag - just offering a little credibility...I have very slow metabolism but have been able to drop the baby fat right after all four kids and have weighed the same for about 20yrs.

Pay attention to what you're eating and how each item will benefit you (or not).

I second the Weight Watchers! I have lost 27 pounds so far! I started while I was nursing and they allow extra points for that. Also, another gal mentioned an elliptical...I love mine! I use it every day.
By the way, I used weight watchers online. It's amazing! You can track your points online and look up point values for any given foods. It even has a recipe builder that you can enter all the items and it calculates the point value per serving! It has been a wonderful resource for me.

walking and drinking water is the best thing for you. eat five very small meals a day. lots of fruits and veggies no meats. take exlax things to make you have a stool. id=f you need a little chocolate in your life a couple resces peanut butter cups will do. stay away frim sugar. coffee is bad for you too. as much as we all love it. no soda or carbonation. i stopped drinking soda within a week i lost 5 pounds
