It all depends. If the clothing is used, try ebay, if it is handmade by you, try www.Etsy.com (they have a wiki and lots of great advice for new sellers), if you are wanting to wholesale clothing from other designers and want to set up an online clothing boutique... you will need a lot more help!

You will need to register your business name and apply for a resaler's id from the Texas Comptroller. Email or call them here for any extra info on what exactly you need to apply for. You can do that here:

http://www.window.state.tx.us/taxpermit/
http://www.cpa.state.tx.us/taxinfo/taxforms/01-forms.html

There are also classes you can take that are specially made for women starting businesses for a low price, some even free in Fort Worth. They will help you out so much!

I started my own online store, a baby boutique, and it is Hard work and takes a lot of time and money to get to the top of the search engines. If you are not at the top you will get NO traffic unless you advertise outside of the online world.

I think getting into ebay or etsy first if a great idea with virtually no overhead cost to you.

You can see my site: www.tinytushiesboutique.com
I am on page 2 of google for keyword baby boutiques and I still do not get that much traffic or orders.

You should also look at Craigslist.com. It is better
than ebay. Not an auction type, just need a pic of items
how many and what you are selling them for. Add in postage
and handling and tax if needed. Set up paypal for charge
cards or do money order to a mail address. No need for the
money order to clear like a check, get money order and
put item/s in the mail.
Ebay not a good idea. The seller has no rights versus
the buyer can wreck item, send it back, let ebay know
the condition they claim it arrived in and then it
also goes for you. Ratings go down and such.

This is definitely off the subject but wanted to put my two cents out there! I've seen several online businesses but am most impressed with the one I've became a part of. I do majority of my work online! I'm a Mary Kay consultant and yes that's what I'm referring to! If you'd like more info or would like to give it some thought let me know! Check out my website that comes with your starter package! Its all brilliantly laid out and I love it! Its all done for you! :o) www.marykay.com/tchavira

I'd love to give you the FACTS so you can make an educated decision before you turn down the idea! If its not for you, you may know someone that would be perfect and could help me in recruiting... Just a thought...

Its so much more then selling lip stick and mascara! Trust me, for over 2 years now, its grown into SO much more then that! Blessed me, my family and our future in several ways!

Thanks, and best of luck!

Hi,
I sell clothing online and use eBay. Its pretty easy, but I recommend doing some research before you start listing. If you are selling childrens clothing, a couple of good clubs to join for advice are:
www.herecomesthestork.com
www.auction-moms.com
www.gymboreenews.com
All of these have really great advice for getting started on selling childrens clothing on eBay. Each cost about $5 or so a month, but worth it for getting started.
I hope this helps! Good Luck!
