How Do I Keep a Diaper on a 21 Month Old???

Welll. My lovely daughter is going through the phase right now where she is pulling off all her clothes and her diaper at night. She woke us up at 1am last night with her onesie and her crib soaking wet and shivering, and her pajamas and diaper on the floor, so I'm guessing she's doing it before she actually falls alseep, not in the middle of the night.

Any suggestions on getting through this phase? I'm ready to start duct taping her diaper on before naps and bedtime! Do they make clothes that are extremely difficult for toddlers to take off? She's a pro at snaps, zippers, and even buttons.

Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

For bed time and naps use the one-piece footie pajamas. Cut the feet off and put pjs on backwards. With the zipper in the back she won't be able to take the pjs off and get to the diaper. Simple but pretty amazing!!

Maybe she's ready to be potty trained. I thought it would be too early til I read "How to potty train in 24 hours". Check it out!

My 22 month old daughter has been doing the same thing for a couple of months off and on. We have been putting her diaper and onesie on backwards. She can still get it off if she really wants to, but it slows her down a bit. You can also try the pajamas that the top snaps to the pants, again, probably won't stop her, but may slow her down.

Ok, it sounds crazy but we had the same problem with my "streaker" boy and my husband decided one day to put the diaper on a bit snug and cover the diaper fasteners with DUCT TAPE, yes duct tape the grey/silver tape that is stronger than any other. It worked like a charm! of course we had to cut the sides to get the diaper off if it had been on a few hours but it was worth it and after about a week, we stopped doing it and he had moved on and never realized the tape was no longer on the diaper and never tried to "streak" again. Hope this helps!
