My family is planning a trip to Lake Geneva next month and I was wondering if any moms out there could give me your input on hotel stays. I have two boys (4 yrs and 3 yrs) and a baby girl (4 months). My husband and I are looking for kid friendly hotels that have indoor AND outdoor pools (in case of bad weather). Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi J.,
I agree, the Cove would be your best option. It's right in the heart of downtown Lake Geneva and it really caters to the kids. Plus you can walk everywhere. We have a condo in the Abbey Villas at The Abbey but it's in Fontana, don't know where you want to be. We are up there almost every weekend. They are kid friendly in the respect that they have events going on daily for them and they have an AWESOME outdoor pool/water play area for the kids as well as a game room and indoor pool. They are a little pricey.
Ahhhhh, I LOVE Lake Geneva. It's my second home!
Have a blast!

Last year we stayed at the Abbey and they were very kid friendly. They actually had programs for kiddos that you could drop them off kind of like babysitting. We only had our 4 year old (3 at the time), not our baby in them, but it was nice to get a little break from entertaining him. They also had both indoor and outdoor pools.

I do think that most of Lake Geneva is very kid friendly. I've had friends that have stayed at the Cove and other places that had lots for the kids to do as well.

I personally like the Cove. It has indoor and outdoor pools,is walking distance from the shops, lake, and restaurants and has suites with kitchenettes.

Good luck.

I visit the Lake Geneva area many times per year with my family (boy 4 and girl 2)and I cannot say enough about the Cove of Lake Geneva.
It is located right in downtown Lake Geneva- across the street from the Lake.
They have an indoor and outdoor pool. The outdoor area actually has 2 pools and a cabana bar. The kids pool is zero depth with a center fountain and pirate ship slide. The othr pool is more for adults (3-5 feet deep).
Being that you will be right in town, you can park at the Cove and walk absolutely everywhere. Believe me, parking is a mess and by leaving your car at the Cove, you can avoid that headache.
We love it.
All rooms are condos - kitchenettes, living room w/fire place, bedrooms and bathrooms.
This place makes travelling with kids so easy.
I saw that someone else responded with the Abbey as a suggestion. THe Abbey is nice - but it is in Fontana (about 10-15 minutes away from downtown Lake Geneva) and is not as family freindly as the Cove.
I would definately stay at the Abbey if it were just me and my husband - but being that we travel with the kids - the Cove has worked wonderfully for us.
The phone # is 800-770-7107. or www.cove-lake-geneva.com

We're going back in August and we cannot wait.
We're even looking into buying our own unit there.

Hope this helps.
J.

My family and I are big fans of Lake Geneva. We have been there several times and have a blast each time. We usually stay at the Cove which is great, but last time we stayed at TimberRidge Lodge which is an extension of the Grand Geneva. TimberRidge is more geared for kids and we really really had an awesome time. It is more expensive than the Cove but I thought it was worth the $.

Good luck!

I have to agree about The Cove. It is centrally located and very kid friendly! We went last year with a 1 and 4 yr old and they loved the kiddie pool. Plus the indoor pool is huge in case of rain. They also have a Houlian's restaurant in the hotel in case you don't want to go anywhere. The only catch at The Cove in the summer is it is required that you stay two nights.
