Ok ladies... any help here is greatly appreciated! I have searched high and low for a good THICK mat to put under my son's highchair to catch all the flying food. I bought one at Babies R Us but it was cheap and flimsy and the food became caked on so I eventually threw it away. I have searched on e-bay, babycenter.com, One Step Ahead etc... and have had no luck. I'm looking for something that is easy to wipe clean that does not "crinkle up" under the highchair like the other one. Thanks in advance for any suggestions :)

What can I do next?

You could always go to an office supply store and get one of the mats that are for under a desk. They would defintely be easy to clean.

The one I bought a few years ago from one step ahead is a thick plastic mat. It does fold. If that isn't think enough you could look at Staples or an office supply store and get the thick mats you put under your office chair .

Good Luck!

Try Land of Nod (landofnod.com). They have some really cute durable splash mats. A snap to wipe clean and reversible as well, similar to oilcloth material which is very durable. They're not cheap but you can use them when he gets older to put under art easels, play table, for art projects, etc. Also can try etsy.com and search for vendor Modern June. She also makes very nice oilcloth floormats for a bit less cost (the Deluxe floormat version is reversible). I think you'll be really happy with either. Good luck!

I've seen moms use more like an office rolling chair mat, tough, wipable, and it will grow with him!

Have you tried the SplatMat? It is made by the company that makes SippiGrips and PaciGrips - I got mine at Babies R Us but think Amazon has them, too.
