I have a 3 year old neice staying with me right now with her dad and she is having problems with potty training. She goes pee on the potty and knows when she has too but when it comes to pooping she wont go. She knows when she has to go cause she will go and hide some where like behind the chair. But she just wont go on the potty. My brother even tried catching her when she would run off to hide ... He put her on the potty and she sat there for ever. Still wouldn't go. As soon as he let her up like back to the dinner table she would take off again and hide behind the chair. Does anyone have an suggestions i could give to my brother ????
I have used this on my children and neices and nephews, it works awesome.
Make a chart and everytime she pee's she gets to put 1 star (or sticker) on the chart, but when she poops she gets you put 2 stars on the chart. Make sure she is the one to place the stars it will give her the incentive to do it more often.
My 2 year old hides under the kitchen table and goes. I ask her "what are you doing" she says hiding, when I ask "why" she says, I going poopy.
I have tryed putting her on the potty but then she just holds it.
I think it is just part of potty training, but i'd like to know how other people handled it.
Hi! I would try the sticker reinforcement...if that doesn't work, than I would check with your pediatrician...my guess is she's just not ready yet. Hang in there!

LOL!!!!!!!!!! My oldest now 17 did the EXACT SAME THING except her choice of hiding was behind a door.....
My mom, of course, knew how to figure her out....
She lovvvveeeeedddd having her picture taken....sooooo gma told her if she would goo poopy in the bathroom like a big girl she would take her pic.....yess it worked plus adds leverage now with b/f lol "show pic of nik poopin at 19 mths" hope ur niece loves cams most of em do at that age
