So What Happened?™

Thank you ladies for all your responces... he actually doesnt have pink eye (that is why i believe its good that the drs always check them before diagnosing) he has an eye infection due to a sinus infection ... yup weird ! And to top it all off this morning he woke up with diarrea and vomiting turns out he also has the stomach flu and i am battling it so that not only he gets and feels as comforatable and gets better fast, but so that my 14 month old doesnt get sick as well.... its a tough job this parenting thing but its all worth it... thank you ladies for all your good advice.

Warm compresses to to eye always helped my son when he had pink eye.I was always told that it will take it's course and no medication will help...it will take atleast 5 days and it is contagious...so other children should try to keep away...I hope this helps...

Call your Dr back and ask if she will call in a prescription for the antibiotic drops that he will need.
Oops, I didn't see this message until this morning; in the future, especially once your dr has seen him for pink-eye, you can just ask the office to call in the prescription...

Wash his hands!!!!! Wash your hands!!!!! Wash everyones hands!!!! That will help with the spread. Maybe a cool wash cloth on it ???? Good luck

My mother in law is big into natural remedies. She tells me to brew a regular tea bag and when it cools to put it on the eye. The tea is suppose to help clear the infection. Good luck.

I heard using a little baby shampoo with water could help. just mix it together in your hand rub over closed eyes and wash out with warm water.

i ws only responding because i was just concerned about the stomack flu your son has. there is a flu out there that is lasting longer than the normal 24 hours. up to 2-3 weeks. my friend has a young niece that was hopitalized for dehydration. just keep you eyes on the symptoms. and the stomach flu is only spread by contact with the vomit and stool. it is a hard job. lysol, lysol, and more lysol. hope everyone gets well.

our dr wont even see the child with pink eye to prevent spreading in the office. she just calls it in. next time though there is all natural stuff over the counter at walgreens, it works great.

Seeing as it is already Monday morning, this won't help you... but in the future, there is a place called After Hours Pediatrics, which is only open evenings and weekends- not sure where you live- if there isn't one, there is always Centra Care or other urgent care centers. Some hospitals have an Ask a Nurse number. As a last resort, you can track down a pharmacy that is open late (or a 24 hr one) and ask advice. All of these things are something you should keep handy for evenings and weekends because other issues WILL come up in the future. Pink eye is uncomfortable, but not life threatening, so I can see why your doctor wouldn't see him on the weekend, but she should have at least given you advice on how to keep him comfortable.
