Celebration and Dream Cafe patio both come to mind. Located near Beltline & the Dallas tollway. There's also Sweet Basil in North Dallas on Midway & Trinity Mills. It's Italian, they have a private banquet room and the food is outstanding.

Tea shops are often nice places for baby showers. I had one for my sister-in-law at "Into My Garden Tea Room" which is inside Nooks & Krannies in downtown Plano. http://www.intomygarden.com/index.html
They have a really cute nursery inside Nooks & Krannies where you can "adopt" babies and they also sell a lot of children's gifts and toys ... so it's very "baby shower appropriate" and a fun place to shop before or after the tea.

I'm sure there are plenty of cute tea rooms in McKinney as well. The whole downtown Square has so many cute stores and restaurants. The Rick's steakhouse that opened downtown has awesome, home-made desserts. If you just did a dessert shower, it would be affordable there.

I also noticed "Patti's Place" recently opened near Coit and Park in Plano. I've never been inside, but it's such a cute building, I'm curious what it looks like on the inside. The prices seemed a little high but maybe they'll discount for a group. http://www.pattisplacetearoom.com/

Good luck - I had fun planning a "tea themed shower". For the guests' gift bags I included a cute tea mug, assorted teas, chocolate and little shortbreads. I attached a little made-up poem that ended with something like "while we wait for baby to arrive, relax and have a cup of tea".

We just moved from the McKinney area! It depends on what you want. I will admit that I don't know prices, but here are some ideas to check out: My friends liked going to Sweet Tomatoes (downtown McKinney). Golden Corral has a room for private parties. There is a ballroom, the DaVindi ballroom (also downtown) you might check and see if they would be available. There is a shop (also downtown) called Girlie Girl. They mostly do birthday parties, but might be open to a baby shower (after all, we are just big girls!) The library has a meeting room. That one you could probably just schedule (have to check with them on that). There is the commnity center just south of Town Lake (you can't see it from the road...if you are on the 75 frontage road heading north from Eldorado, you can see the sign, but it's in the trees...there might also be a room that you could use/rent at the McKinney Center for the performing Arts (the old court house IN the square in downtown McKinney). Another place is the Pantry...also downtown McKinney. The Surrey House off of Tennesee does wedding receptions, but you might see if they were available for a shower...

There are lots of little restaurants there that you could check out, as well.

You might also check with some of the people who would be helping/attending the shower. There might be aa community clubhouse that one of them has access to as they belong to that community...

Depending on the weather (I know...dangerous thing to do in McKinney!) You might even consider reserving one of the pavilions (like at Town Lake) and holding it outdoors.

Hope that helps! We LOVED living in McKinney!

I recommend Alice's Tea Shoppe on E. Louisiana in McKinney. It's only a couple of blocks off the square: very cute, Alice in Wonderland theme, very tasty food, and much more affordable than the Lavender Tea Room. They'll give you a private room, and they do showers all the time. Email Cyndy Long at ____@____.com, or just stop by--Cyndy is the owner, just opened the shop in November, and will be great at helping you plan your shower!

We have used Mimi's in Allen for a brunch shower. We just call in a reservation for a large table about a week before and they have everything set up for us. Each girl pays for their own meal, but the hostess(es) pay for the mom-to-be. We bring our own table decorations and cake. It has always been fun!

Hello, I'm looking for a location for a baby shower that is beautiful with scenery on the inside and out. Nothing too expensive. The shower is for my youngest sister.

The Lavender House in McKinney is nice if you're looking for an upscale type of feel. It's a tea room, but they serve lunch etc. I'm not sure if they do private parties or not. We had my sisters bridal shower there, but it was just for family so they just put several tables together for us.

Good Luck and welcome to the area!

You may want to look into Celebrity Bakery on Preston Rd. in Frisco. This place is already girlie, so no need for decorations. You could have a 3p or 4p shower (when they are very slow) and purchase cupcakes/cake and beverages for everyone. This would be the only cost associated with having the shower here.

You can try Baby Grace Baby Planner in Rockwall. I'm not sure where all your guests would be coming from - but it's a baby boutique and they have a really nice room for a shower. I can't find a website for them - but someone blogged about it at...

I don't know where you are located, but tea rooms are wonderful. I have a friend that makes diaper cakes and baby wreaths for Mommy's to be if you are interested. I had my sisters baby shower with 12 of us on McKinney at a Tea room; it was awesome. Remeber to check around for quotes; prices & menus do vary.

Good Luck,

D.
