Help! Baby 7 Month Old Is Teething & Sick

Ok, So My Baby Is Teething, About To Cut Her First Tooth & Has Been Suffering For 4/5 Days Now
She Has A Runny Nose, Cough, And Has Decided She Doesnt Want To Eat OR Drink ANYTHING,

I Got Some Fruit Purree Into Her (with ALOT) Of Persuasion, and 5oz Of Milk,
And Shes Brought It Back Up 3 Hours Later & Now Wont Take Anything Else

She Usually Has 3 Solid Meals A Day, And 4 Bottles.. Totalling 3 Meals, And 230z
Today She Was Sick EVERYWHERE, Three Times, And Has Had 3oz Of Fruit Puree And About 13oz Of Milk

I've Spoken To THREE Doctors Now, And They All Said 'Maybe Its A Virus, And Shes Teething'
Offer Her Water,
SHE CANT KEEP IT DOWN?!

She is very tired, very unhappy and i have ran out of ideas :(

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

My baby saw my doctor today, he said she is teething, but also has a cold, she was sick because she had choked on the phlegm/mucas.. she kept all her milk down today, will introduce solids again tomorrow.. her tooth is so nearly out :)
thankyou to all of you for the advice!

Sorry to say, but just have patience. Maybe try only 2 or 4 oz at a time and see how she does. I know my son ran fever and had a snotty nose until his mouth was full of teeth

I have used Hylands teething tablets (available at most health food stores, with great success, they calm babies down. Also if you have an organic wash cloth or a thoroughly rinse a wash cloth so no soap or fabric softner residue is on it, offer it a something to chew on and then she'll get moisture from that.

Pediasure is another option.
also try a little baby massage, gentle strokes down the back and down her tummy might help settle things.

First slow down. Give her tummy some time to rest or she will continue to puke. After she pukes, give her nothing for an hour. After the hour give her a teaspoon of water. Then wait for a half an hour. If she keeps it down, give her another teaspoon of water. Wait another half an hour. If she keeps it down, give her a teaspoon of water after fifteen minutes. If she pucks up start the whole process over. When she hasn't puked for a couple of hours you can offer her a saltine cracker with more water. Don't try to get alot down her or you will just make her puke more. Watch her close so that she doesn't become to dehidrated. If it is to overwhelming, take her to the doctor.

Don't force her to eat any babyfood. Just keep offering her a sippy cup (no spill proof piece in it) with some water or pedialite. And give her pedialite in her bottles too. She will probably be off formula or breastmilk for a few days......

I used Highlands Teething Tablets when my kids were teething. They worked wonders on our daughter and worked ok with our son.

The other thing you should do TODAY, it get her in to a chiropractor. They can help with a multitude of ailments and it should make an almost immediate difference in your daughter! With a cough and her other symptoms she is probably fighting a cold too. We bring our kids there before we bring them to a regular doc. They can solve the problems with no medication! They have fixed all the colds, ear infections, fevers, etc that our kids have had!

My 6mo old daughter just had a nasty stomach virus and wasn't able to keep much down. The Dr wasn't too worried, as long as we could keep her hydrated. He had us give her 1 Tablespoon of Pedialyte every 20-30 min's just to keep her hydrated but making sure she didn't have too much in her belly since it was so upset. It seemed to work for her.

I hope things get better soon! Best of luck to you!

Don't worry yourself too much unless she is not wetting at least 1 diaper every 8 hours (make sure it is wet not just barely damp) or her eyes appear to be sunken in a bit. These are signs of dehydration in which case I would skip the doctor and go to the hospital. Try doing flat sprite/7 up, pedialite, or even gatorade. Start with only 1/2 oz every twenty minutes or so and if she keeps it down for an hour then you can up it to 1 oz every 20 minutes. This is what I had to do with our son when he was really sick at about the same age. I agree, it is very scary. Good luck.

You can also dilute her bottle with pedilite. For example, for a 6 oz bottle, do 3 oz of water and 3 oz of pedilite. Watering down the formula is easier on them when they are sick and flemy. One time my son was hospitalized and they did this for him. Also, you can just dilute his bottles and make them with less formula. 6 0z of water and only 1 or 2 scoop instead of 3. Milk makes more flem... so the more water the better. And yes, elevating their crib mattresses with towels underneath and humidifiers help a lot too! It totally sucks when little ones are sick because you cant give them anything except Tyenol or Motrin. Good luck! Hang in there!

Since you gave her fruit purees and she threw up, it might possibly be rotavirus, which reacts to dairy and fruit products. get the plain, unflavored pedialyte and give it to her slowly, as one of the other moms suggested. It is a virus obviously, so it just has to run it's course, which is typically between 3 and 7 days. My niece and nephew already had it this year, as did my daughter but her case was fairly mild. keep an eye out for dehydration of course, and get her to the hospital right away if you even think she is dehydrated.
