i am looking for something fun to do with my 2.5 year old. I was thinking of the detroit childrens museum. Has anyone been there recently? What kind of exhibits do they have? Is a good activity for a 2.5 year old??

What can I do next?

I took my kids to the detroit childrens museum last year. I did not care for it very much. At the libraries right now they offer free passes to several museums. If you want to check out any of the museums, you may want to stop by the library and pick up some passes first. My kids really liked the Detroit science center.

I went there recently and wasn't overly impressed with it. It is very small with not many exibits as such but some toys and games. My 3 and 5 year old enjoyed it but it didn't take long before they were ready to go. It is free though so that's a plus, and they do have some stuff to do there.

I think it's a good idea and also try a field trip to the Michigan humane society,it's free and they get to see the animals. Be careful though at the humane society there are some cuties( the animals) down there you mat come home with an extra family member.

I haven't been since they opened the new Kid's Town, but it looks fabulous! I take my 1 year old with his older cousins and we enjoy it. The Kid's Town would be even more fun and I plan to go later this summer.

Research the Detroit Science Center. I think they just opened an area that's specifically for toddlers. It sounds really cool! I'm looking forward to taking my 2 year old son there this fall.

It's summer time, go to the zoo. if you go during the week there may be less people there, but even at this age, they can have a good time. We went for Easter sunday and had a ball, we could get up close and see most of the animals with out a lot of people. Take him to the Outback Experiance, you walk through the enclosure with the kangaroos. The artic ring of life would be a lot of fun for him to. You can go sit in the walk way under the water and watch the seals and polar bears.

I think I appreciate and love the zoo more now then when I was a kid. My children love going and we end up seeing differant parts of the zoo everytime we go.
