You are probably allergic to something you are working with!
My grandmother is severly allergic to nickel. She was wearing new glasses... the problem was it took them almost a year to figure it out!!! So check into all the different types of metals that you are working with!

Check with your doctor about a metal allergy. Something similar happened to my aunt due to a trace of metal in her hair coloring.

What causes alopecia areata?

Current evidence suggests that alopecia areata is caused by an abnormality in the immune system. This particular abnormality leads to autoimmunity. As a result, the immune system attacks particular tissues of the body. In alopecia areata, for unknown reasons, the body's own immune system attacks the hair follicles and disrupts normal hair formation. Biopsies of affected skin show immune cells inside of the hair follicles where they are not normally present. What causes this is unknown. Alopecia areata is sometimes associated with other autoimmune conditions such as allergic disorders, thyroid disease, vitiligo, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and ulcerative colitis. Sometimes, alopecia areata occurs within family members, suggesting a role of genes and heredity.

I have had clients with this, and in time the hair comes back, I would check with your doctor though.

Hi D., do you wear gloves when you use the cleaner? I had severe hair loss do to some medication, and I started using ovation hair shampoo, conditioner and cell theropy and I have new hair growth around my hair line and on top of my head as well. J. L.

It is very possible that you have an allergy to something with which you are working. It would be helpful if you could disclose what cleaners you are using? Or what type of jewelry - fine or costume?
