I am wondering what other women have given their husbands for their 30th birthdays? He doesn't want a party (we did that last year). Any ideas? Thanks!

I know it isn't very practical around here, but we lived in Dallas at the time. I flew in my husband's two college roommates and his brother for the weekend and sent them on a "Guy's Day Out" with golfing reservations for the day, they took care of the rest of the plans. Then I gathered the rest of our friends for a surprise party, which was ready and waiting for him when he came home. He never suspected it because he thought his surprise was having his friends there with him for the weekend. I know you already gave him the party last year, but I think our friends expected a big party also, being his 40th b-day, so that made everyone happy. I know golfing isn't practical, but I know you could probably think of something else, a trip to the casino maybe. I just thought it was important to make it "about him" and I knew he would love to have those "special people" there also to share an important b-day with him. If you're lucky enough to have all your friends and family close by, then you already have a lot to celebrate! Have Fun!

I too sent my husband to the skies for his 30th b-day. I got him a gift certificate...to use when ever he wanted. $75 for a half an hour or $125 for an hour. He went up in an ultralight. He even got to take over the controls. He enjoyed it sooo much!

Take him out for a romantic meal. When you get home, show him how much you love him (kids out of the house for the night).

I just heard about a great b-day gift. My husband has a friend who recently turned 50. his wife and kids gave him 50 of his favorite things. A lot of the items were small, like his favorite candy, his favorite socks, movie, etc. I thought it was really sweet and thoughtful. Start making a list of 30 things....good luck!

How about a gym membership to protect his health? Most gyms can arrange this for you.

I know a few other posters already mentioned the "30" of his favorite things. Just wanted you to know that I did that for our 10th Anniversary....giving my husband TEN things equaling TEN of things he loves (ex: $10 gift card to Best Buy, $10 gift card Starbucks, 10 of his favorite candies, Ten $10 bills to play poker, 10 roses, and more.) I also gave him 10 cards...with a special message in each one and put them in 10 spots throughout our house, and even drove 40 min. to put one in his car at work. Oh and I included my 2 daughters (3 and 1) too and they made him special cards as well. My husband said it was the most creative, awesome gift I had ever done for him, and still talks about how special it was. Not to mention, I had SO much fun doing it. :)

For about $200, we sent my husband flying! I paid $100 and his parents paid the other $100. He got one hour of flying training and one hour up in the air. Although he did not pursue this to be a ceritafied pilot, he did say that it was his BEST b-day present ever. Good Luck! :)
