Hello, I'm trying to find a great family dentist who is preferred under the United Health care plan. I'm also hoping that the dentist provides lots of pain meds or sedatives for dental fearing patients like me! LOL

thanks!

D.,

First off, I must confess that I broke my front teeth out 11 times as a kid (always landed face first), so I'm a big chicken when it comes to dentists. I have never been comfortable with any dentist... until now.

Dr. Bob Koons is the best dentist I've ever met. Hands down. He is very gentle and very much a family man (his daughter works with him & he is a proud grandpa). Everybody there is super sweet. Even when I brought my 5 y/o in with me last week, they put her in a mask & safety glasses and let her "help" clean my teeth. Best of all, he is a sedation dentist!

He will work on the whole family; no problem. He also does ortho. His office, Masters Hand Dental, is in Allen off of McDermott & Alma. Call them about UHC. They would be happy to answer any questions you have.

Whatever you do, DON'T go to "Master's Hand Dental on W. McDermott Drive in Allen. He's a convincing salesman claiming to specialize in sedation dentistry, but that Dr. Bob Koons is NOT a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) or any other association. Plus he claims to be an orthodontist but apparently has no specialty training on record for it. He's about to be investigated (by the Texas Dental Board) and sued for poor standards of care & misrepresentation.

Hi D., we have been going to our dentist for 18 years and love him and his staff. His name is Denton Wiginton and he is in Plano! I really hate to go to the dentist but he actually caters to big babies like me to make it as painless as possible if I do go plus, he's just a really nice man! His number is ###-###-####, his office is located off of Coit rod between Legacy and Spring Creek! I am not sure if they take united as we have Aetna but it is worth calling and asking. Blessings, J.
