It has been recommended that my twin boys receive speech therapy. I would like to know of a good place/speech therapist that they can go to in the north dallas area.
Two recommendations
1) Melissa Halpern- ____@____.com comes to my house plus she also has an office out in Plano I think. She is great with my 2 boys.
2) Playworks/Speech Ease- Amy Havenor- They are at LBJ and Hillcrest in an Office building. Also very good.
Melissa has 3 boys of her own so she is great working with boys. She has really been good relating with my kids and they have made huge improvements.
Have you contacted UTD's Callier Center? It is part of the college. Also, you could call Cook's. Also, you can contact your local school district and see about getting them screened through their Special Services department and that is free. That way you don't end up spending a bunch of money if they don't even actually need therapy. Let me know how it goes.

Both of my sons (ages 3 and 7) recently completed speech therapy. We used Bliss Speech Therapy in North Dallas. They are located at 12700 Hillcrest (Hillcrest & 635 in Dallas). Easter Seals in Carrollton, they are located at Hebron and Josey ###-###-####. Callier is good and after that if you have to go private, it can be very expensive but well worth it to help prevent regression. My understanding, and I could be wrong, be careful when using the public school. They are limited in what they provide and you have to know the system to understand what they deem "age appropriate" and what a private therapist would consider age appropriate. Some things like tongue thrusting is usually not addressed by public school therapists. So, ask questions, and ask them again. Write them down, etc., etc. If you are not sure, it is better to get an assessment from a private therapist and make sure you keep ALL your documentation on all assessments. God bless,
