I am moving to 30062 part of Marietta (East Cobb) and was wondering whether anyone out there can recommend a GOOD preschool for my daughter. I can be in the zip codes of 30062, 30067, 30068. I suppose those would be the closest. Please, if anyone knows of one, let me know.

What can I do next?

I HIGHLY recommend Village Montessori School. It is in Roswell, but just on the west edge. It is near Hwy 92 and Mabry Rd.

Our daughter has been attending there since she was 2. She is now in their elementary program. Even if you just go there for preschool, I feel that the Montessori method really is great for all children. It helps prepare them for the "real world" and teaches life-long skills.

The Montessori method is based on a child's natural tendencies— to explore their surroundings, move around, socialize with a group, etc. It teaches (by experience) self-control, hard work, the positive feeling of accomplishement, and decision making.
If you aren't familiar with it, there are some great resources on the web. You might look at:

Also, village's web site is: http://vmschool.com

Good luck in your search and welcome to east cobb!

While I was in college, I used to work at Primary Prep Academy (located on Sandy Plains Rd., very close to Hwy.5 and I-75) and it is in the 30062 zip code. It is a great school, and all the people there are so nice. The owners are a family, and one of the sisters has a master's in early childhood education. It is a little pricey, but if you really want quality care, they are an excellent choice. They offer full-time and part-time care. If their facility wasn't so far away from where I work and live, I would definitely put my children there. Their phone number is ###-###-####. All of their classes offer the closed-circuit television, so you can login to their website and watch what your kids are doing at any time. They also offer still photographs that update through the day.

I just registered my son at John Knox Presbyterian preschool. I REALLY like it! It's off of Powers Ferry Rd close to the 1-20 Loop. Good luck!

roswell First Baptist has an awesome preschool. My son attends there. Give them a call and set up a visit. There is another Presbiterian preschool right across the street but I didn't like the fact that the playground was so close to a busy street. I felt it was not as safe as Roswell First Baptist.
