I am looking for a good pediatrician in Cedar Park who listens to the moms of their patients. If they have sick patient appointments that's a bonus! I have a great pediatrician but am getting tired of the long drive all the way down to Bee Caves. Any suggestions? Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone for all of your input!! I was very busy with phone calls and internet searches. We decided to go to Dr. Cepeda @ Jollyville Pediatrics. We saw her today and loved her. Thanks again!

Dr.Nash at Austin Regional Clinic over by the RailYard. Its 1431 and Discovery. My son has been going there since he was 4 and he is 9 now. I also go there and he will right mommy prescriptions as well. He is GREAT. Dr. Nash loves Donald Duck and can talk like him too. I highly recommend him!! B.

Ours is located near Mopac/Parmer. Her name is Dr. Suffredini and we LOVE her. She is very receptive. We have had great talks about all the mundane stuff and the heavy stuff like vaccines.

Hi D.. My kids go to a pediatrician who is located on 183 and Lake Creek Parkway. Her name is Dr. Mrudula Deshpande, ###-###-#### or doctordeshpande.com She is awesome. We live in Hyde Park and I make the drive to see her. Her staff is awesome. They return calls immediately and I can always get an appointment. Even if they are busy, they get us in-you may have to wait a bit in the office, but they get you in. My kids love her. Hope this helps. -J.

I've done lots of research into this one (I'll spare the long story), but we have gone with Jollyville Pediatrics. We LOVE Dr. Cepeda, but Dr. Spencer is also good. It is not in Cedar Park, but we think it is worth the 20 minute drive down 183 (just past Academy). We do like Cedar Park Pediatrics & Family Medicine, and have heard really great things about Dr. McConnell, although I have not met her. I was not impressed with Dr. Mathew in that office and stopped going there because of her. I also did like the extra services available through ARC but did not like their factory feel. We did not look at the one on Discovery Blvd. because they wouldn't do an interview, and we eliminated anyone who was not willing to take the time to let us get to know them. I was not impressed with Dr. Cohen and I have heard stories from other moms who were not impressed. Of course picking your doctor is a personal decision, but that has been my experience. Good luck in your search!

We got to Cedar Park Pediatric and Family Medicine. They have 3 pediatricians on staff. We've seen all three and they're all great. I especially like the new pediatrician: Dr. McConnell. They have always had sick-patient appts. when we have called and they are often able to get you in next day for well-child checks when you forget to set them up in advance.

Kelle Rice at ARC on Discovery and South Bell. We tried 2 others (1 you've been recommended here) and they seemed great until I was billed. They billed me at a well child visit for a well child and simultaneously as a sick child because I asked for a maintenance med for asthma to be refilled. I thought it was terribly inappropriate.

Lonestar Pediatrics (833-PEDI) has an office on 620 right next to Hill Country Bible Church. Dr. Thorstad is considered one of the best in Austin. Gwen Collmann, a nurse practitioner, is FABULOUS! I never have a problem getting in (and I have four kids so I'm there a lot), and even when I call last minute, the wait is never very long. They have a sick and well waiting room. I'm a nurse and one of the doctors I worked for before I had my first recommended I go there. All my friends whom I have referred there (and that's a lot) like it there as well. As you can tell, I'm a big fan!

I love Dr. Wacker. She is with Austin Regional Clinic Cedar Park and they have same day appts and after hours appts in CP. She is very nice and open minded. We are waiting to vaccinate our baby and she was very open about it. She respects the parents choices and doesn't criticize like our former pedia. Good Luck! ###-###-#### Located on Discovery Blvd near the library and courthouse.
