Good Morning ladies!
My boys got Kindle Touches for Christmas. We are looking into getting them a couple good magazine subscriptions with things they are interested in. Their search engine is annoying and I'm not finding anything we like.
Do any of you have good magazine subscriptions for your kids? Which ones? I looked for Highlights and could not find it and a couple others.
We're also looking for good free kids books to get them started. We'll be willing to spend money later on for good books but for now we're looking at free.
My boys are 8 & just about to turn 11.
Thanks!

Hello, Have you tried going onto Amazon.com yet? I have an account with them and when I want to get new books or games (I just received the Kindle Fire after having the old Kindle) I go there and type in Free Books, Free Games, etc. I think you might be able to type in Free Childrens Books and find something. I know that there were some classic books that popped up when I looked last. They might be more geared towards your older child, but I also got a free book for my three year old granddaughter recently onto my Kindle and then transfered it to my new one when I got it.
Good luck.

Check out what your library has to offer. First you will need to download some free software, but it should be readily available on the library's website and they should also provide instructions for you to follow.

We love "National Geographic Kids." "Boys Life" has a lot of stuff aimed at Boy Scouts, but it's also good for non Scouts.

My hubby has been finding a bunch of things through Calibre and openlibrary.org.... both links are on that thread. (Calibre is a program, I think.) I'm not real techy, so he is the one telling me things.

Apple has Highlights, Just Kidding, Vocabology.....but Paper Toss and Angry Birds are truly irresistible.
