Good Housewarming Gift?

Housewarming usually means kitchenwares - or wines if shes into wine. If you have any clue what her kitchen is lacking that helps - like a bottle of wine and box of wine glasses, bottle of tequila/margarita mix with margarita glasses, same with martinis and beer glasses. Candles are another easy thing, new set of kitchen towels/wash clothes/oven mits/placemats. Think of anything you would want to have new for a new home, like a fresh start. Also, if they are garden types you could get some nice autum mums right now in a big pot...hope this helps

You can't go wrong with a nice candle.

How about making her a dinner? You could do a ziti pan, with a bag salad and crusty bread. I think she would appreciate a night off from cooking, especially after a move :)

How about nice new Welcone Mats for the front and back doors?

How about a beautiful (large) houseplant? Does she like plants?

Or a bottle of good wine. And fruit?

I haven't needed to buy one for a while, but my go-to housewarming gift was always a door-knocker engraved with their name. I would get it at Things Remembered. Like I said, it's been a while, but I don't remember it being too expensive.
Also, a Home Depot / Hardware store gift card would probably be useful.

How about a nice big NEW front door mat?
Don't personalize it... I don't think it is a great idea to have your name emblazoned outside of your house like that, personally... And nothing crazy in style, unless you REALLY know her WELL. Just plain and simple, something with gray scrolls that looks nice. Maybe says 'Welcome' in the middle or something...

Or a nice big potted plant (if she doesn't already have a gazillion of them). I love them, but half die quickly and a few manage to survive for more than one year or so. But I LOVE having them around and it can be a pain to have to shop for and put one together.

Wine and cheese. If you wanted to make THAT personal, get the glasses at a Things Remembered type place that can engrave their new address or the date of closing or moving date on them, as a nice memory down the road...

ETA: Be cautious with candles. Unless you know she likes them, skip that. I like/love the "idea" of candles, but I almost NEVER burn one. They just become dust collectors in my house. The ONLY thing I ever do burn, is at Christmas... and that is one of those wax pot pourri burners, with the melty scented disks. Those just take tea lights, don't make smoke or smoke detectors go off and burn out quickly so no worries really about leaving something burning on accident.

-two potted spiral evergreen topiaries to flank her front door
-2 inexpensive kitchen hand towels
-set of 4 stemless wine glasses
-the house numbers on a plaque
-a plaque w/their last name to be set out front
-bag of pistachios
-some nice cheese, crackers, hot mustard
-an inexpensive tall glass vase
-a small white rectangle serving dish for when she has company
-a few garden items for out front (small gnome, stepping stone, key stone
etc)
