Glow Dome - Do You Have One?

My daughter got a Crayola Color Explosion Glow Dome for her birthday. We put it together yesterday, colored the inside piece and the dome, and she was so excited to see it rotate and light up. When we tried to light it up and rotate, it was very touchy. If you put the right amount of pressure on the top of the dome, it will rotate and light up, but otherwise, it isn't working. Do any of you have this toy? My question is, should I return it for another one that will hopefully work better, or is the toy just a poor quality toy that we shouldn't bother to replace?

What can I do next?

I think you should return it. My son has had one since Christmas of 2010 -so for well over a year -and it works great! He's also treated it pretty roughly and incorporated it for a number of other uses, but it still works as intended very well.

I would take it back and get another.

I do not have this item, but Crayola typically puts out GOOD product, I think this particular one is defective and you should swap it out for another one.

My Niece got one for Christmas. It worked right away. You should definitely take it back and get a new one since it sounds defective. There products are always good.
