Formula Feeding at Disneyworld
Hi Moms! I'm hoping someone can give me some suggestions for formula feeding my daughter at Disneyworld. Our oldest daugher will be nearly 3 years old and the baby will be 5 1/2 months old when we take them in September. We'll be spending 5 days in the parks and I'm not sure how to handle mixing the formula, measuring it, having clean bottles and fresh filtered water while we're out at the parks. I'm assuming we'll get gallons of bottled water for the hotel room but it seems impractical to buy a bottle of water whenever she gets hungry in the parks. As of right now she's eating between 9 - 14 times per day and she's on no schedule whatsoever. Any tips would really be appreciated (or any tips in general for a Disney trip, too!) Thanks ladies!

Try filling the bottles with water ahead of time, and all you will have to do is add the formula. This way you won't have to buy any bottled water and it lessens the number of steps you will have to do when preparing her bottles.
Hope this helps

We vacationed with a 7mnth old and I took the gallons of water and filled the bottles before we left the hotel. do you have the formula storage? They sell them at babies r us or walgreens etc. They have four spaces that you premeasure the formula in (up to an eight ounce bottles worth in each slot)they are a lifesaver. I also took a small bottle of dish soap and a bottle brush to clean the bottles while away. It worked out well for us.

Hi, Enjoy UR trip 2 WSW. At 5 1/2 mos my kids ate off the table like mash potato & etc. (soft foods). I don't if there's a reason UR baby's still on formula. U can bring baby food in jars or container that want spill. My 4 kids drank can milk & water mixed at 1 mo old. So talk w/ UR dr. abt changing baby's milk & etc I never understood why some drs treat baby's over a mo old like an infant. But if U must continue UR baby on a formula I suggest putting the formula amt into a plastic bottle then ask 4 some warm or cold water 2 mix it right in bottle at feeding time. Take a lt. weight stroller w/carrier & use an insulated bag 2 keep food & bottles in. Reason I suggest a lt weight stroller is B/C there's train, ski lifts & monorails 2 take U from 1 area 2 another or else all the walking will wear U out fast. Also a lt. wt. stroller will B easier 2 fold when U ride on transportation. There's alot of places 2 eat in most areas of the park. Get a brochure when U enter 2 tell U where everything is. a map also helpful have a safe & happy trip. M.

Hi M.,
Disney has baby stations at each park!!! They are AWESOME!!!! They will be great for your 3year old also!!! There is a place to feed them, nurse or bottle...sinks, bathrooms, tv w/ movies playing!! Changing room!!!!! And a little store w/ diapers, formula (sponsored by Nestle....so that formula) Juices....It's a great resource you must find!! They are a little tricky to find but look for the pacifier on the maps!!!! USually near first aid. Don't fret.....ANd don't be surprised if your 3 year old just wants to swim....I suggest getting a park hopper so that after doing 2 things at one park you can go to another....or go for a swim and then head back out!!!! Try to have enough flexibility to keep your 3 year old on a "schedule" so she isn't melting down...ENJOY!!!! :)

Hi,
Fill a couple bottles with water before you hit the park. Bring the Enfamil formula sticks with you. Just add them to the bottle when you are ready. That takes care of 2 bottles. If you need to give her a third- then buy the H20 at the park. The little formula sticks are more expensive than the large container, but very light and easy to carry.
We took our kids when they were 5 and 6 months. It was great! Disney also has a little baby care center for anything else you might need.

With 9-14 feedings a day, I'm not sure this would be economical but it would be the most convenient. You didn't mention how many ounces your daughter drinks per feeding. There are ready to feed formulas that don't require and powder, water or measuring. You just open the can (8 oz or so) and pour it in the bottle or in some cases open the bottle put a nipple on it and it is ready to go. There are also cans with about 32 oz of ready to feed. You can pour it out in 8 (or so) bottles with the ready to feed before you go to the park and then store it in a cooler and pull out a bottle as you need it. If you must use powder, if you have enough bottles to last the day, I would measure out the powder before you head out in the morning and bring a liter or two of water with you and as you need the formula, just fill the bottles with water and shake it to mix it. Just make sure no one drinks for the bottle of water, you don't want bacteria getting into the water. If you only want to bring a few bottles with you then you'll have to wash the bottles, bring the powder and water, measure and mix as you go.

it will be more expensive, but why not just get the ready to feed bottles of formula? you just pop a nipple on. we use them all the time when we are traveling. the extra cost is worth the saved hassle.

Hi, we just made this trip with an 8month old.
Platex drop ins. Put the liner in, measure 3 scoops of powder enfamil, put the nipple and cap on, bring 3 or four to be safe. Bring bottle water in diaper bag and add 6oz and shake when needed. I usually fill some of my older daughter's sippy cups with water killing two birds with one stone.
