Finding a New Pediatrician in Utah

Hello moms (and some dads), we are moving back to Utah in August and I am going to need to find a new pediatrician. I have two boys, 4 and 2. Does anyone have a pediatrician they absolutely love and are willing to share? I am looking for someone who can accommodate you quickly with a sick child appointment, someone who listens to concerns (and doesn't just blow them off), has a good bedside manner and is good/friendly with his kid patients. And if possible, has an after-hours number that goes to a nurse in case there are issues (do all pediatricians have that?). My pediatrician here in Florida (as well as the office staff) is all of those, and I really need help finding one in Utah. I'm mostly looking in the Sandy, Draper, Midvale, Holladay, West/South Jordan, Sugarhouse areas. However, I'm open to those outside if they are worth looking into.

What can I do next?

ALL of the doctors at Families First Pediatrics in South Jordan are amazing! I love them!

They are accessible, professional, good with kids, good bedside manner, get you in fast, etc. They have great after hours support. (I've spoken to the doc at 2 am before, with no charge, and he was kind and helped.). I can always get a same day appt. They have extended hrs in the evening for parents who work.

They are GREAT with kids! They have separate "well child" and sick rooms, to reduce spread of illness. I never have a long wait (they are prompt). They listen well, and treat the parents like partners. They have the right balance of concern and reassurance.

My son had to be hospitalized once and my pediatrician was there every day, overseeing what the hospital docs did, keeping me informed, and making sure my son got the best care possible. Our doc spreads time, and doesn't just run in and out the door.

We see Dr Michael Johnson and love him. But we've also worked with Dr Cox and with Dallin Ormand, FNP. They are great too. I'm heard raving reviews about the other docs there too (though not seen them myself thus far). We've used Families First for 9 years now, and I have never had a single bad experience! They are the best I've ever seen. I say that both as a mother AND as a nurse.

Someone in my area asked that question recently. All these people would be close to the area you are looking at.
Dr Pete Moskowitz at ABC Pediatrics in draper I can text my doc and ask him about symptoms and when I call him he always remembers my kids names
Dr. Gardiner at Bryner Clinic up on about 9th East and 4th South.
Dr. Cannon Marriott at Mountain View Pediatrics in Sandy (right next to Alta View Hospital).
Dr Kevin Lash at Southpoint Pediatrics. 1300 W 9000 S.
Dr Valdez at the Kearns Clinic He is a walking encyclopedia and takes lots of time to educate and talk with parents - I feel like he really cares and knows his stuff.
Dr Rahiniotis at Southwest Children's Clinic. Off 90th and Redwood Rd. She is wonderful. She cares and takes time with us and doesn't just try to get us out the door.
Dr. Brian Buchanan at Southpoint pediatrics.

We go to Hillcrest Pediatrics in Murray and love them. I have many friends who go to Family First Pediatrics in South Jordan and love them as well. Dallin Ormond and Barbara Bean are the ones I've heard many great things about there. Someone recommended Dr. Pete Moskowitz at ABC Pediatrics in Draper and I have to say that I had a bad experience with him and would never recommend him or his practice to anyone. Good luck with your move!

Jed Vandenberghe in Holladay is AMAZING! We have moved out of the SLC area, but still drive almost an hour to get to him because he is completely worth it. He has gone above and beyond for our family so many times. One thing that I really appreciate about him is that he is great working with all different sorts of views-I have friends who take their kids to him that don't vaccinate at all and he has never made them feel inferior for their choice. Plus he isn't a pill pusher-he will actually spend time figuring out what is wrong and looking at what the best course of action is instead of just writing a prescription and shuttling you out of the office like so many docs do.
He works with Holladay Pediatrics so they rotate on call for the off hours, and he has an NP that is now in the office on his day off. They also have a messaging service now where you can message his nurse if instead of calling if you have questions/concerns.
