Favorite Nursing Pads?

I just wondered if you have/had a favorite brand of nursing pads? It hasn't been that long since I weaned my first baby, but I cannot remember what brand I finally settled on! This time around I've tried Avent, Johnsons, and Nuk, and I hate them all. I bought a pack of washable organic cotton pads but I go through them so quickly, I really need the disposable ones until my supply levels out. The more absorbent ones tend to be really bulky and show through a t-shirt. Also the ones without adhesive tend to slide around and not do their job. So what is your favorite and why?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the great tips! I had to search for the Lansinoh pads but they really are the best ones! Plus I love that they come wrapped so I can stick them in my purse. Thanks again everyone :-)

I like Lily Padz. They're reuseable, don't bunch up, and did a great job at stopping unwanted milk flow.

I liked Lansinoh. They didn't seem to be as noticeable as others and didn't annoy me as much. Didn't care for the adhesive though - things just never seemed to go back the right way and it was just easier to move it into place if need be.

My favorite was Lanisoh. They have adhesive, but I never used it because my boob would never go back in the same spot of my bra when I would undo it to feed the baby. I liked being able to move it around as needed. However, the reasons I like this brand over others are: 1) They are large in size and cover well, but are thin and cannot be noticed through your shirt. 2) They are extremely absorbent. 3) They come individually packaged and extras can easily be tucked into a diaper bag, purse, or pocket. Hope this helps!

I like Lily Padz the best. I have tried cloth and disposables, but I just fill them up. I actually held a bottle to my opposite breast while I fed my LO on the one side.......I filled 2 oz of that cup, just from dripping (or should I say spraying). lol The Lily Padz were the only pad that I could STOP the leaking, even for ME!

If you have not seen them, they are flexible silicone pads that stick to your skin. Easy to use, reusable and do NOT show through your clothing. I could even wear them without a bra at night! Could never do that before! If you are braver than I am (or if you just have smaller breast), you could probably go bra less during the day, too. lol Good luck finding what works for you!

It's been almost 8 years since I've had to think about this; however, I still remember the best ones out there (in my opinion) are the Lansinoh. I too tried several different pads...leaking through all the way. I don't remember the fit or anything. Just remember them being the ONE!! Hope you find what you are looking for. :)

I love Medela. They are thin but hold A LOT. I never use the adhesive... my boobies are big enough they just stay in place.

I tried many, but my favorites were the Lansinoh ones (the round ones), they're the thinest and very absorbent. You couldn't tell I was wearing them.
Good luck!

First Years Lanolin Treated Nursing Pads. The center is treated with lanolin and was really great for keeping nipples soft and helped with cracking. I won't use any other brand. It's kind of weird that Lansinoh doesn't do this considering they are known for their lanolin.

They are extremely absorbent and contour to you breast pretty well.

I loved Lansinoh. Anything in the purple box was the best for me (i.e. Lansinoh)! That adhesive worked well for me and they were quite absorbent. I was prettly leaky with my first and I never had a leaking-through issue with these pads. They weren't overly bulky, but if the shirt is more lightweight, they may show a little crinkling (as will any pad I've ever tried--even the cotton ones). The second time around, I added some organic cotton ones for use at night to give myself a "breather". But I was all about the purple box and recommend them to everyone I know and most have also gone on to recommend them to others as well.

I really liked Lansinoh as well! The never leaked, and I had serious leaking!! The Johsons and Johnsons absorb really well, but I found they stuck to my nipple--ouch!! I'm pregnant again and I know I'll use Lansinoh then switch to cloth cotton pads until everything evens out.

Lansinoh is the best I have found. I have never leaked through them, they are not bulky and are completely invisible under your clothes. They have adhesive strips on them too that keep them in place. Actually I never even use the strips as they always stay in place for me regardless. I highly recommend this brand!

I did well with using the thick Advent pads for overnight use if need be, since they did show through clothing, I wouldn't wear them during the day. Also, I used Lansinoh, which by far exceeded the rest. They are ultra thin and highly absorbent just like they say. I didn't use the stickys on them since they were cupped well enough to stay in place. And most importantly they didn't show through clothing or ever cause any embarrassing leakage accidents. I am currently breastfeeding and have been for almost three years straight. I have a two year old and a soon to be one year old... phew. Good luck in breastfeeding... your baby is getting the best nutrients thanks to mommy, congrats.

I really love Bamboobies. They are super soft and washable and made from natural fibers. Give them a try when you level out, maybe?

Lansinoh!! :)

I tried a few different ones, but the Lansinoh was my splurge after having babies. They don't show much at all through your clothes (if you know what you're looking for, you can tell, but otherwise they are the most discreet in my opinion), they are VERY absorbent (I am someone who lets down easily and can pump 12+ ounces at one time) and I don't think I ever leaked through one, and they do not stick to you or leave any residue on you. I found that the Johnson's ones were awful--pieces of fiber would stick to my breasts unless I caked on Lanolin cream, but I almost never needed the cream for any other reason, and I still would have to pick the fibers off before nursing. Ick!!

I used the Lansinoh with my first two boys and just bought my first box for when my third is born.

I actually loved the Avent ones- but that's partially because a box of 100 was only $10 at Motherhood Maternity. I, again, like Johnson's because they're curved to fit. I agree, though, that Lansinoh's good.
I found that I had show-through problems in the beginning, but I ended up buying a lot of new bras. I found that was often the problem- if the bras were that thin-stretchy material, I ALWAYS had show-through. I got a lot of thin tank tops to wear under my shirts, or cardigans, etc. Honestly, though, I swear by my Motherhood Maternity bras. They were only $20 and they're as nice as the Victoria's Secret bras I used to get. Nothing shows through with the kind I have, and they're cut just like a normal bra, so you don't have to worry about the neckline of shirts, etc.
Hope you find something fabulous that works for you!

Lansinoh is the only brand I've used and it's fine. But to be honest (hope this doesn't sound gross), at home I use small baby washcloths (they're small, washable, and we have a ton) and save the disposables for outings. Maybe my breasts are small enough that it's never been a big deal for me.
