My second son had the same thing. OUr doctor told us the same thing as yours did. He said it happens quite often especially in breastfed babies. They did give us some kind of cream for it. It should clear up on it's own eventually. Does it seem to be bothering her?

Hello R.,
My son also had the same problem. They actually diagnosed it as baby acne also caused from hormones. They only thing they told me to do it to keep his face clean and in time it will clear up. Good luck and hope it clears up soon :-)

My daughter had the same thing only hers came in around 1 month. My Pediatrician called it baby acne. He said that he sees it mainly in women who have a fairly trouble free pregnancy and good hormone levels and that it's because the baby is coming off of being dependant on your hormones for survival. He also told me to not put anything on it and just to wash her face with very mild soap or just some warm water. It does not mean that she will have acne later in life (I was stressing out about that) and it usually clears up in about 4 weeks. It also get worse before it gets better. My daughters was horrible and looked so painful but it did clear up in about 4 weeks and she's never had any other problems. Hang in there, I know that it looks so painful but I think that it looks worse than it really is, give it time and it will pass. Hope this helps.

Hi R.,
I had my son last december and he got the baby acne too. Its not big deal, but do not try to pick it off or wash it off, that will only make it worse. My son had it for about a week or so because I wouldnt stop messing with it (it bothered me so much!) But it should go away on its own!

My daughter had the same problem. It corrected itself after a short amount of time. The doctor told me the same thing, but to be honest I don't think it's hormones, I think it's their skin's way of dealing with the harshness of our environment... it's learning to cope. I put lotion on my little girls face after her baths and it cleared up on it's own. Keep in mind that as good as water is for us, three times a day on a new face might be a bit much. Just give it a few days maybe a week or two let it cure itself on it's own. Hope this eased your anxiety...
Your baby will be fine!!
