I am hypothyroid and I am looking for a new endocrinologist. Does anyone have any recommendations? I would really like a doctor at Northwestern, or in the vicinity, but I am willing to travel to Rush as well. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
A.

I've been seeing Dr. Robert Sobel ###-###-#### for about 11 years now for hypo-thyroid. He is located on 30 N. Michigan. He takes the time to explain what's going on. For complete disclosure: a co-worker years ago also used him and wasn't as big of a fan as I am. I have no complaints and like him just fine. He calls me personally after the results of my tests come back. He was very involved monitoring my levels when I was pregnant and communicated with my OB/GYN.
I'm not sure if he's taking new patients.

Mark W. Stolar is the the Northwestern Internists, Ltd. Group at Northwestern. 767 N. St. Clair, Suite 415, ###-###-####. They have a website www.nwinternist.com. Dr. Stolar is my endocrinologisy and has been treating my Thyroid Cancer and monitoring for the past year. I like his beside manner, he is very personable and shows concern for whatever you are experiencing.
Hi A.,
I work for Northwestern Memorial Hospital and one of the best endocrinologists in the area is Dr. Walter Stoller. He is a genius!! I have referred several people to him and they love him. He is a little quirky (I think it's because he really is brilliant) but he is very nice, patient and knowledgeable. He is an office affiliated with NMH, on the NMH campus. The number is ###-###-####. I hope this helps.

Hi A.,
I am hyperthyroid and living with this disease for years.
I have had success with several doctors.

Hi A.,
I have been seeing Dr. Pauline Shipley out of ENH(I see her in Evanston) for over 5 years. I had hyper and hypo thyroid shortly after delivering my son. I just referred my mom there as well post thyroid cancer follow up care.
Dr. Shipley is very thoughtful and informative. I would highly recommend her even if it requires a bit more travel every few months or so.
You can get her office # thru Evanston Hospital at ###-###-####.
Hope you find just the right doctor for you.
I use Dr. Mark Stolar at Northwestern Internists (676 St. Clair). ###-###-####. He is fabulous. When I found out I was hypothyroid and searching for an endocrinologist he was recommended to me by 3 different people. I know others who are extremely happy with him as well. Good luck.
Hello,
I am hypothyroid also. I was referred to Dr. Mark Stolar at Northwestern Hospital. He, at the time, was no longer taking any additional patients so definitely so that E. Twyman referred you. Dr. Stolar is really great! His office is located at 676 N. St. Clair, Suite 415, Chicago and his office number is ###-###-####.
Good Luck
